Touch Arcade:
Those familiar with Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, a downloadable XBLA release, should have a pretty good idea of what Geometry Wars: Touch brings to the table. If you've somehow missed it all this time, the game is a retro-styled multi-directional shooter with over the top glowing particle effects. The game has won rave reviews and been cloned numerous times on many platforms. The iPad version features all six play types of the XBLA release, with a seventh ("Titans") added in for good measure.

"As a port to Apple’s i-devices, Geometry Wars: Touch is a great addition to anyone’s portable game library. The only hardship is the controls take a long time to get used to, but as we’ve found in our testing and just by looking at the leaderboards, it can be done. And for the price, Geometry Wars: Touch is easily a best buy. "
hmm...I'd be tempted to buy it had I not already outplayed it on the 360 and DS :X.

Finger Gaming: Those who’ve played Geometry Wars proper will likely find the controls insufferable, but what if you happen to be that other guy – you know, the guy who denies there’s anything wrong with the iPhone’s control mechanisms no matter how bad they can be.

AppSpy: Plenty of other developers have taken a crack at trying to recapture the magic of Geometry Wars and some have certainly come close, but nothing quite manages to come close as the real thing.
