Red Dead Redemption is shaping up nicely especially when it comes to multiplayer.

mjolliffe5897d ago

When it was first announced I didn't think much of it. However, Rockstar have shown some of the best gameplay I've seen in the western genre.

Turning out to be a gem, but I suppose those reports from the wives of the developers saying that they came home like robots could have been true.

kevco335897d ago

Agreed. Wasn't too bothered by the announcement, but I'm getting more and more impressed...

poindat5897d ago

...And yet it will generally be ignored by the masses of gamers who believe that a review score of 80-89 equals crap.

I can really see it happening. Sad.

Everyone needs to support these guys with their money, especially after all the sh*t we know they've gone through to get this game to us.

DARK WITNESS5897d ago

your right.... which is why along with supporting the game, make sure you tell everyone by word of mouth.

I decided I would skip sc conviction and just get red dead when it's out as i would rather my hard earned cash go towards them.

i can't wait.

Out of all the games we have seen so far this year, Red Dead Redemption, GoW3 and ME2 are on my short list of GotY candidates.

RDR looks to be shaping up to be one of the best open world experiences on the market. I had to argue with a gamestop employee that the game was going to be good. WTF....I think very little people know of this game and reviews under a 9 should be a criminal offense.....(from what ive seen so far)

Definately THE Sleeper Hit of 2010 !!!!!

Ravage275896d ago

but i'm always in support of diversity. Hope it will sell well enough to reward Rockstar's stellar effort, the game is looking great!

This game has some serious potential to be AWESOME!!!

Valay5897d ago

Seems like that happens with a lot of games, but it's worth it in the end.

Tripl3seis5897d ago

More like people don't play these type of games on their phone normally and don't try them out. Not like the places where people do play these games haven't crushed those numbers easily.

How many people actually played more than an hour of the game or came close to finishing it on mobile is the real question. If people aren't playing the games to a point that is purposeful, then why try when a subscription that is behind a streaming service isn't a sign of success but just curiosity.

What if Netflix becomes ‘the Netflix of gaming?!’

Alek83131d ago

I downloaded it because I already have a Netflix sub.
I am not going to buy it for $40 or whatever it costs on Google Play.

I tried it out and will be sticking to the PC version, but it's not bad.

Having said that, this is the issues I see vs the PC version:
1. Greatly reduced texture resolution.
2. Massive downgrade ALL lighting quality (this includes water, shadows, etc).
3. Stutter and heat. Prolonged play leads to both.
On the plus side, we have:
4. This thing is like 6GB vs the 12 on Steam.

Great way to try the game, but not the best way to play it.

Perhaps Netflix will make a RDR series now that ST is done with.

Lionsguard131d ago

A Netflix version of RDR?... Oh boy... I can't wait... /s

TheColbertinator131d ago

They should build a production that includes members behind the True Grit remake and Hell on Wheels from AMC. Both were perfect for wild west vibes.

gold_drake131d ago

but i doubt people ACTUALLY played it on smartphone vs tried it out.

Another free update...good to know but I don't own a series X

Petebloodyonion165d ago

I’m not sure what the exact issue is. I had no trouble getting the free update—you basically get the new game for free if you have the 360 version in your digital library. Maybe the problem is related to owning or not owning the Undead DLC expansion.

Hypertension140164d ago (Edited 164d ago )

Yea I think thats what it is. I also own the game but not the expansion, and im unable to download the update.
