AMD has been going on about the drivers for a bit now. I downloaded the test ones and there is a performance boost with these drivers. AMD just has to get their drivers bugs taken care of and they will get better benchmarks. Nvidia might have a better card but they make too much heat and eat too much power. I am fine with my 5870 card.

5970 is a dual gpu card, and not everything supports taking advantage of both... its like taking 2 cards in a computer sli or crossfire. same thing with the gtx 295...

And still i would rather have a card with physx on it. Makes games look so freakn hot!!

Some real numbers finally. And the result is not bad, not bad at all.

These are too vague to come to any real conclusions on performance. I'll hold out for some more detailed benches in the next week.

I agree with jimmy riddle, i want to see more tests and charts and then reach a conclusion. But these results aren't bad at all.

I hope reviewers are comparing the visual quality between Nvidia and ATI cards too. Video card developers are under a lot of pressure and it must be tempting to "optimize" their cards to run specific high profile games faster by reducing the image quality.

For example - Nvidia could optimize their drivers to run high profile games faster than ATI, but when totally new games come along then you may suddenly see that ATI's cards are actually faster.

It's no longer about just hardware these days. It's as much about drivers and a company's willingness to optimize their drivers for certain games.

So the above benchmark isn't necessarily showing us that Nvidia's card is faster, but rather it's showing us that their drivers have been optimized to run those games faster.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
