Now I’m not the biggest football fan (hockey is more my speed) but I loved playing Tecmo Bowl back in the day on the NES, especially in multiplayer. The game wasn’t really all that much about football but a great competitive, arcade-style experience that could be experienced just as well by sports fans and casual gamers alike. In 2010 the game was remade (using mechanics from its sequel Tecmo Super Bowl) as Tecmo Bowl: Throwback, a more modern take on the classic for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360’s digital stores."
