I like the way Epic shows off their tech, and have yet to make a game worth a damn running on it. And no Gears was a okay game for its time. But its 2010 and Im riding atop Titans and killing bosses at the same time while everyone is still stuck walking and turning like a slug in Gears of War 2. LOL!

I think the gears games are fantastic and i would love it if they were on ps3, they look fantastic i think. But i feel they aren't really up there with visual leaders like killzone 2 and crysis. Also i have been playing gow3 and it's been blowing my mind.

Naturally Cliffy is going to say GoW is a visual success, it’s because it is. Now God of War 3 looks better than Gears 2, there is no doubt. But for HHG to say “Question is will it be Xbox360 only or does Cliffy B need the extra processing power of the Playstation 3 to fulfill true visual leadership” is complete ignorance. Hey HipHop, maybe you should be talking to Sony and it’s 3rd parties and asking them with the Power of the 3 symmetrical cores in the 360, Sony’s 3rd parties could have games as rich in features like Halo 3 or as beautiful and “complex” as Mass Effect 2.

I have yet to see or play a game Like Mass Effect 1 or 2 on the PS3. I guess the power of the CELL just isn’t powerful enough to create a game that has so many different options and consequences in a game that can literally change the story and outcome of the end with complete fluent gameplay (no QTE’S) and have your story and character carry over to the next chapter in the following game.

Bottom line, stick to your point HHG. You were right about calling Cliffy out, but you are WAY off your rocker to be dragging in the PS3 and claiming it’s superiority. If you can only boast about PS3 graphics, than I can boast about 360’s gameplay’s. And we all know Gameplay > Graphics.

UC2 is more impressive than GoW3.

While I'm having fun with GoW3, in reality, it's just a pretty, polished version of GoW2. I'm in the labyrinth now, and all this nonsense about GOTY, masterpiece, best opening for a game ever,..not even close. It's GoW on the PS3. Period. ME2 is still ahead of as GOTY and when your speaking about strictly visuals, Alan Wake has them both beaten. I personally don't think it should be considered for game of the year. Maybe GOTY for its genre but even then Bayonetta and even Ninja Gaiden offer better gameplay experiences. GoW3 is a great game but it isn't the be all end all that some may think it is.

Another great PS3? Absolutely. Another WAY over hyped PS3 game? Positively.

I was waiting for bayonetta to be mentioned. A game made for 360 (3cores) and then ported to PS3, by a teams first ps3 title.

Point is, if you make a game for 360, you have try and put game on PS3 using Spu's. If you don't use the SPU'S. You'll have an inferior Port. I doubt bayonetta hardly touches any spu's.

And shaman, Carmack is a pc programmer, that's been doing everything the same way for years, and then of course 2cores, and then 4, and now 6.

Most games rarely use 4cores, and if they do, they are very low usage.

It will not run well on the 360, and in some situations will have res dropped, worse textures. ff rings a bell.

God of War 3 has 3 impressive boss encounters (Poseidon, Hades, Chronos) but it's only visually impressive in spades.

I played through it one and a half times to try out the godly possessions and was let down.

It seems like all the last generation franchises are the least impressive looking this generation (Halo, Ninja Gaiden, Fable, Final Fantasy (mixed bag like God of War))

Anyways, besides the visual presentation the game felt more redundant than the last two games. God of War 2 was fantastic (except for the Pegasus ride) and had a larger scope. God of War 3 is just same ol' challenge room after challenge room with a ridiculous amount of backtracking from Hades to Olympus then Olympus to Hades and so forth.

God of War 3 makes damn near everything look like last generation, let alone Unreal Engine.

If GOW3 left you wanting, that's fine, it does not mean everyone will feel that way.

I just played the demo of splintercell, The acting was poor as was the graphics, sorry but it's true. But yes the game was quite nice gameplay wise.

Seriously if a game is a piece of sh%t i will not play it regardless of the graphics.

But from alot of the decent looking games i've played, none have been that bad, unless i'm not into the genre.

And lets be honest, i play the wii from time to time and the graphics are nothing mindblowing and never will be, but the top games play well.

Sonic all star racing is another to add to that list. AAA. game.

Alan Wake is looking nice, Reach is an improvement over Halo 3, Mass Effect 2 is a good looking game, crysis 2 looks promising and im sure Gears 3 will be a looker too but i just don't think it will ever reach the quality of graphics as GoW3. Nothing on the 360 has even matched KZ2. The 360 has fallen behind the eight ball in graphics when compared to the ps3. I would like to be proven wrong but at the same time im being realistic. We all knew it was only a matter of time before the ps3 would surpass the 360 in graphics and i just don't think that an upgraded unreal engine would be it's saving grace.

Now that Jim Ryan is gone just need to remove Herman Hulst from his position! And maybe give Shuhei the position he deserved.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
