sony have so many exclusives now and so many rumoured exclusives in the works you just cant keep up they own so many first party studios.

when sony saw that 3rd party exclusive games where going multiplat AKA FF13 for example sony new the best thing to do is to get more first party devs there for they grantee quality games and they are alot of titles the problem with microsoft as people say they buy content AKA GTA 4 for 50 million that could have made a full game. and the worse and very funny thing is that could happen even tho people say it cant....

People keep forgetting that the PS3 will atleast last 10 years or more. Infact i think the PS3 could easily last 12 years. Sony has gone all out to make the PS3 as futureproof as possible. I mean the line "it only does everything" is true

It does digital downloads, blu ray, Motion gaming AND 3D. Pretty much sony is at a win win situation. If DD is the future they have it covered, if 3D is the future PS3 has it covered, if Motion controls are the future of gaming then PS3 has it covered.

the 360 just looks more outdated as the days go by. by the time the next Xbox comes out, PS3 games by then will look just as good as launch Xbox 720 titles.

Hell you could argue GOW3 are already achieves that.

It wouldn't surprise me if Sony 'beat' Microsoft with sales of current gen consoles. Personally however I'd like to own the console with the most good games rather than the console that sold the most and that is entirely subjective. To me, chances are it will be the PS3, but the talk of numbers is ridiculous. Both are selling respectable amounts, and if one sells 5 million more than the other, who cares.

Sony have done a great job recently with the PS3 after a below-average launch, but Microsoft have done what I can imagine they wanted to do this year-they've taken a big slice of Sony's pie. I hate all the PR crap between Sony and Microsoft and hope it will stop, but regardless of how much I like the PS3, Microsoft have firmly put themselves in the console market with the 360 and that in itself is amazing with the dominance of the PS2 last gen.

Microsoft will be first bring out new console . Not because its bad, i played some amazing games on the console but the fact is the 360 had year head start and ps3 is only about 4-6 million units behind and is catching up unlike people said, and was one of the most expensive consoles ever. Also devs they getting incredibley p*ssed of with the dvd and the no hdd i do think the 360 would be amzing place if it had a HDD standard. pc is fine with dvd and it would not maded 360 much more expensive even then 120gb-500gb hdd where very cheap so no need other than greed from microsoft part. disgree with me all you like but Its fact 360 time is coming to end but it has been very good as soon MS see how much failer natal will be there will be new xbox. we saw how easily microsoft just give up with orignal xbox.

And how do you define..... "lose the console war?" Is it total sales? Is it profit? Is it market share? Well the ps3 is in last place in all 3 areas. The ps3 will never be the giant that the ps2 was and the Xbox 360 has already surpassed great expectations. That sounds like a win for Microsoft and a loss for Sony to me.

My local electronics WAREHOUSE got a shipment of around 100 slims the other day, and they SOLD OUT withing the hour. SOLD OUT. WITHIN THE HOUR. People want a playstation, nobody wants a POS xbox anymore and it`s so obvious. I see it all the time, people are warming up to the PS3, and fast.

It really has nothing to do with the type of gaming the Ps3 and 360 have to offer. It has been a close call this gen on who will win in terms of an instal base, and both companies have made mistakes (the 360 with broken hardware and expensive but neccessary add ons and sony with a dodgy initial marketing) Us the gamers have lost out in some respects, in terms of the trend of unfinished games with expensive DLC, multiplats not taking advantage of ps3 and blue ray capabilities, but the competition has also been good with big advances seen in terms of online gaming and social interaction. My preference is by far the Ps3 because of more reliable hardware, everything you need built in and the online service including home. oh and blu ray.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
