Bungie's Next Big Thing

AOTF: Ever since Bungie announced that Halo: Reach would be their final development title in the Halo Universe, many have speculated as to what the company might be up to. Some have speculated that they will focus their efforts on multiplatform titles, others have guessed a little closer to their roots in a Marathon redux. We recently came across a trademark registration that Bungie filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on March 9th, 2010. It looks like Bungie is going inter-galactic.

The Bungie Aerospace trademark is likely to be used in conjunction with....

Can you imagine the quality of games that can get made on an engine from Bungie?

Tony P5936d ago (Edited 5936d ago )

They make it sound like Bungie will enter the middleware business or something. Screw that. Make some new games to go along with those engines.

IdleLeeSiuLung5936d ago

I want games from Bungie not middleware. They aren't exactly known for pushing the graphical limit instead they are known for great game play with above average graphics. Stick to delivering excellent game!

Please announce something at E3!!!

I wonder why they chose "Aerospace" kinda throws you off a little.

poe5936d ago

Maybe they are making flying games... God I hope not.

i look into my crystal ball...

i see N00bWrangler know f*ck all

nothing ever changes

the majority of people who complained about halo 3 hadnt much interest in it at all, or hadnt even played it

2FootYard5936d ago

Damn, that was really clever. Just for that I'll let you slap me across my face with your bologna.

@N00bwrangler
so first you say it will sell well then you say it will flop? which is it.
Bungie is a great development company.

They made forge...which is pretty neat in and of itself. Not many FPS's let you customize things even CLOSE to what halo 3 does

Saved Films mode...which IMHO should be a requirement in EVERY game. when was the last time you did something amazing in a game and wanted to take a pic or save the film? yeah happens all the time. Plus you can use it in campaign? not many games AT ALL allow this.

They gave us 4 player co-op which even modern games don't do these days, you get 2 playyer co-op if your lucky most of the time.

Halo 3 came out years ago. When it came out it was next gen (QQ about the tricks they used with their resolution all you want) maybe not the best graphics but it had enough to be great within itself.

you sir are an ignorant fanboy therefore your comment is null and void.

edit: for mixing up forge and theater lol

STICKzophrenic5936d ago

Agreed.

Forge, Theater Mode and four player co-op give Halo 3 so much replay value. I can't think of a single (console) game that can match Halo 3 feature for feature. It came out in 2007, and it has yet to be surpassed.

Sure other games look better, but no other game has the amazing features that Halo 3 has. Reach will have all of that, plus Firefight (with matchmaking probably) and hopefully some unannounced features as well.

my response to you is this.
ask yourself this. "What does the box of ODST say?"

here is the answer. HALO 3: ODST

ODST was a disc based expansion that includes a multiplayer discs with all the map packs as well as makes the multiplayer experience much faster.

was it overpriced yes...realistically by about $10. the reason it is priced the way it is, is because of the map packs that if you bought separately it costs about the same.

The campaign itself was one of Bungie's better attempts at story telling. yes it was short, but it felt the closest to Halo:CE out of any of the installments since. I think people wrongfully bash on ODST because they were stupid enough to buy a game just because the label said HALO on it and did not do their research. well my friend that is not Halo's fault, it is the fault of ignorant consumers.

Bnet3435936d ago

ODST was never intended to be a huge game. ODST also got good reviews and sold well, so how exactly is it a flop?
