Final Fantasy XIV beta website updated with PS3 information

"We hope you plan on purchasing Final Fantasy XIII because it seems necessary in order to complete the application process."

Wasn't this the same thing that was stated a while back for Japan's release of Final Fantasy XIII? Whether it be on PC or PS3 I want to play the beta, still hopping that I can get into the beta.

Really? Interesting...I'll have to look carefully at everything I get tonight then and see if I see a code and apply while installing or what not. I know in the past some things did not come with the games like they were supposed to. Here's hoping this won't be be one of those times.

From what I know, it sounds like a huge workaround just to apply. You have to register FFXIII from the SE website and then hope for a FFXIV promo code. Then you apply to the beta with that code for the PS3 version and hope you get selected. :|

:/ Wow, that sounds like something that would be complicated for people if they didn't know that procedure. Bubbles to you for telling me, because now I know and would have spent a lot of time looking for codes :p. Well I guess one should be glad that they would get another chance to apply if they applied for PC before as well. Two chances.

Seeing as the PC players don't have to do the same thing and that the PS3 beta was supposed to be starting after the PC beta started I think the code is a way to guarantee your spot in the beta.

Alot of people who are interested in XIV are not really interested in XIII so it's really a way to whittle down how many PS3 beta applications SE is gonna have. At least that's how it seems to me.

Whatever the case the beta will eventually be completely open so everyone will get to try the game if they so wish. That being the case I can only see this as a way to get people into the beta faster.

Applying to the PS3 beta with the code invalidates your previous PC beta entry so you do not get two chances.

I really liked FFXI. They should have major improvements in FFXIV.

I'll get it on PC. Better settings, controls, and of course: HACKS (More of macros and bots to make life easier, like fishing when I am at work lol).

I know there's nothing anyone can say to make you not cheat, but you know that crap can ruin games for people, right? You're not better than other players if don't actually do the work to be better. I don't get wanting MMOs to be easy - one of the best things about FFXI in my opinion was that it was hard. If it's easy, you don't get a sense of accomplishment. No one likes a cheater, so you don't get any respect or social standing. What exactly are you after in an MMO? I hope they can make the impact of cheaters minimal - I don't care if people cheat as long as it's not getting in the way of legit players.

Hmmm, This kinda sucks for me since Gamefly already shipped FF13 on PS3 for me. If I knew that the beta code would be put into PS3 FF13 ahead of time, then I would of bought the game. Funny how they say this at the last minute ya'know.
