Kyle of Insert-Disc lists the many aspects of Heavy Rain that he found disappointing. Mostly plot details, meaning the story contains a lot of spoilers so read it after you've beaten the game.

Ben from Netto's Game Room takes a look at 7 video games where dying doesn't mean the end, as the story and world simply continue on without you.

We present a list of horror games with depressing endings, each known for its unique experience and storytelling.

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.
I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.
I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.
No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.
He says he liked it but I wonder.
I could tear 80% of his conclusions apart and show where he just couldn't connect the dots but it isn't worth it. He has a few points that do raise an eyebrow but alot of them see to just be personal taste.
If we are going to talk about unrealistic plot points and holes in the story line then maybe you should add most games and movies released last year to this. How many times in a scary movie have you yelled at your screen because someone did something stupid to futher the plot?
I don't care. It was a very unexpected, good game that stepped over boundaries many hadn't yet, or dared.
The music is incredible.
What's going on with all of these articles nit picking Heavy Rain and magnifying its faults. Heavy Rain is good for gaming. It reflects the diversity of the gaming industry and the audience to which it caters to.
I hope we get more games like Heavy Rain in the near future.
He just wanted a reason to complain
