Yeah there are certain annoyances with wired controllers that many people will share with you, but for me personally, I prefer my wireless PS3 controller. No batteries, can plug it in if you want, etc.

In absolutely no way do I miss the old wired controllers. I do however still use a wired mouse and keyboard for competitive online FPSs on my PC.

I dont miss old controllers at all.

anything besides controllers.....real gamers are wired..would not use wireless even if the router is on top of your rig.

why is the lead so damm short. With my 360 I can still reach from the couch to the consloe with the charging lead . the ps3 one is so crappy short i have to sit on the floor if the controller runs dry

also the xbox is better for charging while its turned off

My dogs have ripped my consoles down onto the floor by running into the wires from the controllers. I'm glad wireless has become the standard.

I can remember way back PS3 FUD was at its height. BUILT IN BATTERY ! OH NO. What happens when it dies? You have to send the whole thing in. Sonys a rip. BOO HOO. Guess what, never happened. You can hurl a Dual Shock at a concrete wall and it still goes. Battery never runs out as long as you plug the cord in occassionally. Cost nothing after buying.

I wish M$ had done the same. My XB controller always seems to run out at the worse time, but I did buy a heap of rechargeables so its not that big a deal aside from all the money I spent on it. The main thing that pisses me off is just lately the battery pack seems to lose contact and cuts out. Man is that annoying. I have to wrap tape or eleastic around it to hold the pack a bit firmer against the contacts. Anyone else had this.

I like wireless controllers. First, the battery for the ds3 can be replaced. Also, you don't need to press a button configuration or code to sync it... you just plug your controller to your friend's ps3 with the cable and it's good to go.

Buying batteries does suck but with rechargeable batteries becoming more and more the norm i don't see the point of the comment. The PS3 controller cost about the same as the 360 but has a battery built in so thats an issue MS should address. The comment about going to a friends he makes it sound so tough but it takes about 3 seconds lol. I play a pretty good bit and i don't notice any latency issues on the 360 or PS3. I would say most issues like that come from internet lag or framerate issues then the controller any day. I do prefer a disc over downloading games tho but thats just me.

Maybe he loves doing lots of exercise? I mean think about it, every time he walks in to the room completely forgetting about the cable his reflexes kick in causing him to do a star jump over the cable while shouting "I'M THE BEST AROUND!"

There's nothing wrong with staying fit.

For games where latency isn't a big matter, wireless is much more functional.

For games where latency is critical, wired is obviously preferred.

I love wired controllers for games like Mega Man, like Saps said.

I still use a wired mouse and keyboard. MX518 and G15 :)
