Microsoft head Steve Ballmer at his "cloud" speech this week hinted that the company may expand the Xbox range beyond a traditional design.
The company has contrasted against its closest rival, Sony, by so far declining to ever introduce a redesigned console that isn't a complete replacement. Each PlayStation generation has always had a mid-cycle update that usually reduces the size of the system and often the cost at the same time.

Hmm, might have to look out for this. I really don't like the clunky design of the my 360 and it probably would sort out a few internal errors because everything'll have to be changed around.
Well considering he referenced his "cloud" speech, im beginning to wonder if microsoft plans on just upgrading the harddrive and running a cloud type of service through the 360 instead of coming out with all new hardware, it would save billions of dollars in hardware manufacturing and repairs and means they could run in the same market as the ps3 for years to come.
Would be a very smart move by Microsoft to finally redesign the hardware and make it more reliable. And they'll do this under the guise of just giving people variety of designs.
A slim would do wonders to reboost sales for a couple of months.
It always gives the "console relaunch" effect.
just fix the crappy system you have now! i would have to say the 360 is the worst console in my 25 years of gaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i still have the first Nintendo console and sega master system, still work til this day, day one bought too.
