Wait until the PS3 fan boys get a hold of this...

I think MS would be smart to adopt a 360/PC compatibility system, now that they are profiting from 360 I don't see the problem, back when times were rough I can see why they really shunned PC gaming.

They really could have made a mint with GFWL(and some effort!), back when Steam didn't have such a domination.

tdrules5923d ago

A first party game, why would PS3 owners care?

Motion5923d ago

Wouldn't this interest the PC fanboys more?

Letros5923d ago (Edited 5923d ago )

Because they can't help but to bash 360 exclusives which are also on PC. Hence the fan boy title, immaturity runs with it.

GiantEnemyCrab5923d ago

Is this going to turn out like Fable 2's most excellent CoOp ?? :/

Why doesn't Lionhead work on making a solid game instead of all these gimmicky things. I highly doubt there is much want for a cross platform Fable game. Maybe an FPS but even Shadowrun failed miserably at that.

Oh and the 360 has no exclusives.

VasiliasNtaHs5923d ago (Edited 5923d ago )

If that happens i think microsoft's long term plan will be migrating Xbox live's community, which is giving them a lot of money, to a platform they can control better, the pc.

Christopher5923d ago

I think this is only important if they vastly improve the multiplayer experience.

And, yeah, some people need to look up the definition of exclusive. Trying to rewrite it for your own needs isn't going to do anything but make your arguments look futile.

Raf1k15923d ago

This sounds pretty cool. If I can play Fable3 with my mates who have 360s then I'm all for it.

tdrules5923d ago

As a PC/PS3 owner I think youre a fool

Pekka5923d ago (Edited 5923d ago )

The only way GFWL could have been success is if it would free of monthly charge from the beginning. It doesn't matter even if there wouldn't have been Steam because there dozens other similar services which have no monthly charge. And anyone can create new service when ever they want without permission from MS. Remember, Windows is free platform with no control from MS and no game on PC has license fees (MS doesn't get even 1 dollar when game on Windows sells 10 million copies unless made by MS of course). PC players only pay for online when they are playing MMO's. Sure, they lifted the charge later on but it was too late at that point.

Anyway, why even mention fanboys? This is actually better for PC/PS3 owners because they have no reason to buy 360 for this game. Heck, PC version would probably be better than 360 version anyway if it would ever be ported to PC.

The only fanboy immaturity i see is from you, Letros. Even though i'm one to usually get a multiplatform game on PC wherever i can, with exceptions, i will probably get this one on 360, i can't imagine there will be much graphical difference between the two versions, cause technically the fable games were never anything amazing, because its graphics came from its great art style and atmosphere.

But yeah, this is supposed to use your save game from the last, which i obviously played on 360 as it is the only platform it is out for, and i actually really enjoyed the game.

It all depends though, i've been known to buy games for multiple platforms, for example i bought GTAIV on PC, PS3 and 360 - and the same may happen for Fable 3.

Letros5923d ago (Edited 5923d ago )

Whatever, I have PS3/360/PC, don't see what you guys are talking about.

Spiderman5923d ago

I just wish Microsoft would do some serious work on Games for Windows live, and make more games that cross over with the PC and 360. So I can play against my friend on Halo 3, whilst having the same functions, such as in game message across systems, voice chat etc, but im on PC and my friend is on 360. It just makes sense for Microsoft.

They should do what Sony is starting to do and get Live on as many platforms as possible. I only own a PC and PS3, so i would love to play my friends on Live without actually buying a 360, and the discs. They could also include XBLA, and XBLM etc.....

This would dramatically decrease piracy in the PC gaming sector. The only way to stop PC piracy is to stop making disc games, and making all games downloadable through Steam/live etc

ProjectVulcan5923d ago

High res, super smooth fable on PC once again? Oh....go on then :D

blue7xx75923d ago

Yeah that would be awesome if MS made the xbox 360 and pc compatible to play online. More people to play online is never a bad thing hopefully it's true.

impossible...though i am a pc only gamer and would be delighted if this is true, i highly doubt MS can afford to not have as many exclusives as possible...especially with sony hitting a purple patch in the last 2 years.

A HiFi5923d ago

Everything points towards them doing it though.

corneliuscrust5923d ago

in Fable II ... man, how about you clowns patch in some ACTUAL co op before doing a sequel.

washingmachine5923d ago

yeah,why would ps3 owners care.

Madis0075923d ago

Looks like Fable 3 is now multiplatform :D

Fable II - A Fantasy Series at Peak Performance

Fable II launched back in 2008 and remains the best the series has offered. Ahead of the series comeback, it's time to look at the classic.

Crows901064d ago

They gotta bring back those gargoyles!

Dudeson1064d ago

I'd love to play it again, this time on pc though. Forever waiting on that pc port.

GaboonViper1064d ago

Loved this game, oh and i always saved my dog at the end, hope the new Fable has a animal companion.

got_dam1064d ago

Fable 2 was the best inthe series. Peter waaaaaaay over promised with fable 1 and it was good but disappointing. He didn't go crazy eith hype for the second game and it was surprisingly awesome. Then he ran his mouth promoting 3 and it was the worst of the 3.

cthulhucultist1064d ago

Funny story: Fable 3 had a funny way of keeping the promises you made in the first half of the game and having enough money to defeat the darkness.

You only had to collect enough money to buy 2 stores in a busy market district. You then raise the prices to maximum and you turn xbox 360 internal clock 99 or more years ahead.

The next time you load the game, all the rents from the 99 years are collected immediately.

But yes I agree that 3 was the weakest of the three.

Demetrius1064d ago

I only got to play it once 😩 I'm so tempted to buy a Xbox 360 slim but planning on getting the series x soon since I got a PS5 in February Im ready to get saints row 1&2 back, GTA 4, fable 2, but I also want to play infamous 1&2 again Sony screwed us over with the stream only for saints row 2 and other gems smh
