SONY CSO is a pirate?

streetskaterfu writes:

"SONY is always whining about piracy and how evil pirates are. But are they better themselves? Not really!

While I browsed the web lately, I read a bit about Bryan S. Blank, the Director of Information Security at SONY Online Entertainment. Getting a bit more interested I found his private homepage (asdfg.org)."

One person, or even a dozen, can't warrant what the rest of the company is doing.

We are all sinners, even if you aren't religious, we all have problems.

Just one quick fact from me.

I worked at a Saturn dealership in my home town, but I only worked there for two weeks. Why you might ask? Because after two weeks, I find that the senior seller, is an extreme racist, and the accountant was placed under child molestation charges.

Does that mean ALL of Saturn are child molesting racists? I mean jeeze, just look at the Popes lol.

-edit- I forgot to mention how hilariously crazy the senior seller was, you wouldn't believe it. On the first week, he pulled me outside away from our boss and started talking to me about how he hates black people and all "there sorts". He mentioned how he even goes to a KKK meeting every once in a while..... What really makes it funny, is our boss is a black man. I just couldn't see how it's possible. Insane lol. Our boss was awesome though, he let me leave Saturn without saying anything and I still got my two weeks pay.

"SONY is always whining about piracy and how evil pirates are."

Are they really? I don't see them talking about this very often...

There's a saying: It's Not What You Know, It's What You Can Prove.

This skater guy may have HAD the drop on the guy, but he totally blew it because he didn't get the info out to a reliable source before the proof dried up.

There's no witness to to independently verify that the links go to the files that he says; plus, there's no way to even directly link the files in the pics to the person at all, if they were linked to him in the first place. Not a single screenshot, not anything to link the person to the said files: just a list of music that could be from anyone. At least skater should have did a screenshot and gave it to someone who is a trusted member of the media to back him up before posting.

Although I definitely believe that all because a person works in a good paying job isn't above theft (My ex-manager stole upwards of 1 million dollars from the company he was working at by skimming off of the top from sales for the last 10 years), and having those files likely mean that they may have been obtained by piracy, I must say all because they are .rar files does not conclusively mean that they are illegal; it only says that the files are .rar files. I'm not even going to play devil's advocate on this one though, because I am generally against piracy on frivolous things like games and stuff like that.

Work and persona life should always be separated.

Why would anyone of a high income need to pirate anything? The only this I download are things I can't afford or can't find at retail. I love physical media and I actually hate downloading but when you love music and movies as much as I do and have so little money you end up doing this you wouldn't otherwise do.

Silly gameAr5937d ago

So this is just now coming to the light? Hmmmm. Interesting.

ZombieAutopsy5935d ago

They only care if you download their games sheesh. /s

I don't think i've known a single person who hasnt pirated something...unless of course they don't know how to or just cant operate a computer. It doesn't make it right but just because its wrong doesnt mean people are gonna stop anytime soon.

Viper75935d ago

Same here, I know no1 who has not pirated something. Its very likely that even the people who are against piracy have downloaded or copied something in their life. And those who don't know how to have probably asked others to get something for them.

"Be creative 99% of the time" – Glen Schofield on how creativity can help fix AAA industry woes

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman47d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
