I believe Sony has the chutzpah to do more than make me-too products-they're capable of making market-expanding products that become household names. But until they take a hard look at themselves in an honest light, Sony will continue to embarrass themselves by remaining the company that says they're bringing us the future-then sells us products even they don't believe in.
Omar writes: "With the Horizon Festival coming to breathtaking Japan, you’ll need the essential gear to prove you’ve got what it takes to become a Horizon Legend as you cruise, drift and explore an open world full of spectacular driving experiences. That’s why we’re happy to announce the newest Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller and Wireless Headset collection, featuring inspired designs from Forza Horizon 6. The bright cyan and lime colorways celebrate the Horizon Festival’s recognition of iconic cars and hit music, with special features that are sure to impress any collector."

You can get Hall effect controllers slightly cheaper, but you'd struggle to find as feature-rich a package without some heavy, heavy sales.

Pascal Gilcher calls DLSS 5 impressive but shares the "AI slop" sentiment, explaining the likely tech behind it and why he dislikes it.
I fail to see how this is AI shhhhlllloooop. Looking at the different games they showed, this has made many of them look far better.
If you don’t like it, just don’t enable it. Personally I think it looks great from the videos I have seen.
Making characters look more realistic not ok because we want the developer to decide on how the game was intended to look. - Internet
Change entire game through mods thus changing how the developers intended the game to be is ok. - Internet
All the comments I see are reminding me of how we got to the current state of gaming when microtransactions were first introduced: "It's completely optional guys, we promise! If you don't like it just don't buy it!"
I think we all know how that ended up.
Biggest Scam. Overrides lighting and shadow. So why keep Ray tracing? It's all a scam to raise graphic card. We now see Nvidia with Microsoft downturn anything against them. Sony is next!
Another Sony hate article? must be Wednesday...
what am I saying there are Sony hate articles everyday
I just sold my PS3
thank you Gizmodo for showing me the light
What exactly did Sony do to these guys to cause such resentment? This article was completely pointless except to bash a company for no legitimate reason.
And since they brought it up, about that 50 Worst Gadgets list from December... I like how they mention the EyeToy, which tried something new and released a fair amount of games and sold decently, but there's no mention of Microsoft's exact replica which had practically no software which it was compatible with. EyeToy sucked, but the Vision Camera didn't? Right... And they bash Blu-Ray? Uh, last I checked Blu-Ray is doing just fine and people like it. But I guess it was a "worst gadget" and HD-DVD wasn't, like you say. Yep. You convinced me.
They WERE an arrogant company that seems to be badly managed. It appears as if they have no clue why some of their products succeed.
They make many great products, but fail to support them properly. Buy a Vaio Laptop lately? Forget updated drivers! You paid how much for it?
Bought a recent Sony digital camera? You might get stuck with their proprietary format! How much does memory stick cost?
Bought a Sony portable digitial music player? It wasn't until recently that they started supporting MP3!
In a world where there are plenty of competitors and you are unable to differentiate yourself with the experience (alas Apple), there is no reason NOT to select a cheaper and sometimes better performing competitor.
With that said, the PS3 is one of the most open consoles I have ever seen. I'm was surprised! Ever since Stringer came on board, things are turning around for the better though.
Maybe this is an article about Sony Corp as a whole. If it is, they are entitled to their opinion. I only care about the gaming division: Playstation. Life is actually sweet for any Playstation enthusiast right now. That behemoth is throwing games left and right. Golden age of videogames, don't let nostalgia alter your sense of logic.
Yup, this is an article about something else. It's just strange to find tech news on the front page, especially when it concerns DRM that's not even associated to gaming devices. My bad.
