Why Counter-Strike 2 must be released

'Counter-Strike: Source still retains a retains a significant fan base five years since it was launched. Combined with Counter-Strike 1.6 it has more regular players than the chart-topping Modern Warfare 2 on PC.'

I would love to see what Valve could do with a new Counter-Strike. So I say bring on Counter-Strike 2!

Dev8 ing5912d ago

How about making it exclusive to PC.

Bnet3435912d ago

Why wouldn't it be? PC exclusive no doubt. Playing CS witha controller is a bit silly. The Xbox port was just an experiment. Though, that game, I remember back in the Xbox Live 1 days, Rainbow Six 3 and Counter Strike Xbox used to rule the Xbox Live charts.

Pandamobile5912d ago

Counter Strike is one of those FPS's that can only really work with a mouse and keyboard. I can't imagine trying to use CS weapons with a gamepad... Pin-point accuracy is essential.

MMFGaming5912d ago

I think some of the original CS team split off to make some sort of team based counter-terror FPS that's coming out soon.

Pandamobile5912d ago

The original CS team was two people from the Half-Life community. Minh Le and Jess Cliffe. Minh Le is the one making that Source mod Tactical Intervention (or something), and Jess Cliffe still works at Valve after like 7 years.

evrfighter5912d ago

I lol'd at the thought of seeing people trying to use an ak on the controller.

Sigh5912d ago

I can't imagine playing CS with a controller. Sure I play FPS on my console more than ever, but CS is one great exception. I tried that horrid CS game on my friend's original xbox... really horrible.

Play on a server with admins. Me and my friends owned a Counter Strke Source community called Waba from 2006-2009. We were the most popular 24/7 CS_Assault server, so we were a major attraction for hackers. We'd get at least 2 a day, but they were dealt with within a round or two.

Permaban via SteamID, problem gone.

ballsofsteel5912d ago

still play CSS every now and then still fun as hell would love if valve came out with CS2 rather than a L4D every year. or perhaps atleast HL2Ep3

The_Firestarter5912d ago

My exact sentiments. Bubbles for you. :)

FantasyStar5912d ago (Edited 5912d ago )

ehhh Nah. The best appeal of CS is LAN-play. Being able to play this game on one of the most dinosaur of PCs is the other big appeal. I still remember the days where all of us in the computer lab were secretly playing CS without the teacher knowing.

If they do release a 2nd iteration of CS. It must retain all the appeals that made CS 1.6 so great. Although to be honest, I wouldn't mind if they take away the rifle-cannon known as the "Scout".

Pandamobile5912d ago

Scout is for pros.

The sniper-cannon you speak of is the AWP.

FantasyStar5912d ago

Thank you for the correct. It is the AWP indeed. I have not fun memories of being hit in the leg for MASSIVE DAMAGE. Ugh...still love CS, but god-damn those people.

Pandamobile5912d ago

I only played on servers where the awp was banned, or limited to one per team.

evrfighter5912d ago

way back when...when I used to play seriously competitive. I was a pretty beastly shot with a scout.

After I played a few years of ffxi and cod4 I was the never the same again :(

I still scrim 1.6 on occasion for kicks. game never gets old
