Metro 2033: 10 Hours Minimum on Normal

TMC: Are you still on the fence over Metro 2033 length? If you are then you're definitely not the only one especially since the announcement that Metro 2033 was strictly a single player experience, but fear not! Huw Beynon from 4A games says how long it will take to beat the game in normal for the first time.

Is it my imagination or were FPS games longer a few years ago ? I remember games like Dark Forces, Duke Nukem, Project IGI lasting me an absolute age before I finished them. Now these days we are grateful if a game lasts into double figures.

My interest in this game just dropped right down, only 10 hours and they will expect me to pay full price for it...... I think not I will wait for it to hit the bargain bucket and then pick it up.

halflife series, bioshock, system shock, heavy rain.

All excellent games with single player only which were well worth the price.

Its a story driven game and 10 hours were all ideal lengths for all of these games.

People pay 30 bucks for a blu ray title which is 2 hours of entertainment.

That's okay I'll be waiting for a steam sale before touching this one.

Well, given the fact that this game has multiple endings, the replay value is very high. I'd compare the production of Metro 2033 with that of the original Bioshock. And for me, Bioshock never disappointed.

10 hours, single player only? Eh...

Unless the game turns out to be fantastic, I'm probably not going to spend my money on it. Maybe when it gets down around $25 I'll check it out.

I guess I'm the type of gamer that will never understand this logic. To me, life is full of daily choirs and though VGs are part of my hobbies, I don't want to spend my life getting to the end of one game especially a shooter.

I'd like SP games (ESPECIALLY SHOOTERS) to have high quality in story presentation but don't drag on for endless hrs. with obvious BS mechanics put in place to nonsensically drag out the length (looking at YOU FEAR & AREA 51 PS2)

For me, playing a FPS on normal for 8-10hrs and then challenging myself for at higher levels for another 8-12hrs is great. 20hrs on a FPS or action adventure game is fantastic for me and if the quality is great then it's worth the 60bucks. I don't need MP in all my games though co-op is always welcome.

Metro Video Game Series: A Comprehensive History

The Metro video game series started with a humble b-list title, before building a strong fanbase and becoming a pioneer in the industry.

Never got into Exodus, but 2033 was excellent.

Yeah, Exodus just didn't grab me either, sadly.

I absolutely loved 2033 and Last Light, however. Played them both on 360 and then again with the remasters!

I just started it and it is already miles better than the first 2 which are dated.
