Deadly Premonition Review | Just Push Start

"Since Deadly Premonition was first announced during E3, I already have a premonition on how this game will turn out. I was intrigued by the trailers that were shown to me and quite honestly, it was one of the games I've been anticipating the most. From the looks of the trailer, the game seems to be very mysterious due to some scary scenes. With Deadly Premonition finally out in stores, how does a low budget game stand out with all the other survival-horror games out there?" - Just Push Start

Thought it was 5/5 at first.

blitz06235934d ago

lol I didn't know such a score was possible. That article who said this is the answer to Heavy Rain must feel very humiliated right now

mrv3215934d ago

I want this game though. Don't know why.

young juice5934d ago

i like to play bad games so that when the next good game comes along i can appreciate it much more.

mrv3215934d ago

I want to play this game for a week... and then go back to Uncharted 2 and cry a bit... how I missed you lip sync, graphics, feel and general awsomeness

SPOILER WARNING: Uncharted 2 feature specific awsomeness aswell as general awsome.

OtherWhiteMeat5934d ago

If I owned an Xbox 360 I'd have to a least rent it.I'm a big fan of really bad horror movies and would love to try this out. This game might end up a cult classic.

Rocket Sauce5934d ago (Edited 5934d ago )

I watched some guy play this on justin tv for about an hour, and oh my god, it's legendarily bad - in a good way! Everything is so ridiculously over the top and awkward. If you can laugh at a movie like Killer Klowns From Outer Space or Shark Attack 3 (check the video below,) you'll love this.

It's the best worst game ever.

***Apparently it was released for PS3 in Asian countries with English language options and all that, so I guess you could import it.

OtherWhiteMeat5934d ago (Edited 5934d ago )

The Japanese version is called 'Red Seeds Profile' and for a mere $78.90 it can be yours. http://www.play-asia.com/pa... edit : plus $3.90 for shipping

Rocket Sauce5934d ago

It's probably not worth a mere $78.90 :(

MATANGO! That's getting netflixed immediately. I'll call your Matango and raise you Death Bed: The Bed That Eats.

OtherWhiteMeat5934d ago

That made my night , I'm still laughing after watching. You win, can't beat Death Bed , but check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watc...

After watching a couple game play videos I think this score might be too high.

Video Games Proud To Not Be For Everyone

Plenty of games have made a name for themselves as being proud of the fact they’re not to everyone’s taste over the years.

If you make something for everyone, you please no one.

mkis007480d ago

I mean I can do without nintendo games if given the choice. They are not nearly as mature rated as the average.

Yui_Suzumiya480d ago (Edited 480d ago )

Yeah but I use my Switch OLED primarily for anime booba style games (visual novels and JRPG's) and ultra violent FPS's. Far from kid friendly, lol

The problem with that line of though is that games have never been as much "for everyone" as in 2025.
The only thing that's not for everyone in gaming lately is the gatekeeping. Devs will try to appeal to as many people as they can, but if you dare have your own tastes and prefer something a bit more obscure, then you have "L takes" because at the moment, popular opinion equals right opinion.
So devs should simply own the fact they water down their games and go Hollywood to please everybody. Then indies will go back to being trendsetters that are different from AAAs, instead of being roguelike and gacha copycats.

Okay, but "games I'm not meant to love" means I won't play them.
Games are for fun. They're their own art, it's a disservice to reduce them to interactive stories. You can focus on making your audience entertained on a positive way and still stand out.

No game is for everyone. Some games are more mainstream or casual friendly but there is always someone who won’t like it. Same with anything else

Deadly Premonition | Games To Play Before You Die

Deadly Premonition is a weird, weird cocktail that doesn't go down smooth for everyone, but it's still absolutely worth sampling.

It’s sooooo janky but the story is so good and the agent is so quirky I loved it thouroughly, the story is that good that you can actually make it through all of its jankiness and issues .
It’s a diamond in the rough and rough is saying lighly.
This game deserves a remake out of any game I can think of .
If they fixed the combat ,driving and movement this would be one of my favorite games all time and it already is in a way.

After10Ben1194d ago

The first time I turned on my flashlight was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in a game. His suit just sort of lights up. There's no physical flashlight in his hand--hilarious. It's also the only game I've played to truly capture the delightfull quirkiness of Twin Peaks. I'm with you on how much I like this game. Despite all of its flaws, it's a genuinely fun experience. "My coffee warned me about it," is probably my favorite line of all time in any video game.

I still haven't played the sequel, but I will some day.

shinoff21831194d ago

I enjoyed this back during ps3 days. I'd buy it again if they re released it fixed up a little. I had fun with it.
