8gb of ram...I'll see that when it happens. I've never seen a game use up even 2.
Either this is poorly coded, or will have graphics that level anything out there.
But then again pushing 120fps(60fps in 3D) will take a beast of a computer...So that's probably where the high optimal came from.
I imagine the recommended is for us non 3D guys.

8GB of RAM!? I've never see a game hit 2GB yet, 4GB is still overkill for todays gaming needs.

Just makes me wonder what the xbox version will look like. I'll believe those specs when I see it actually making use of it, but until then I think they may be over-hyping the graphics of this game a little.

I'll be using Nvidia 3D Vision, so this will really test my hardward. I've still got the recommended specs, but will prob have to sacrifice a few options here and there for the sake of performance.

I don't believe it. A multiplat game requiring that much on 'optimum'? None of the screenshots justify the insane specs. If a game was gonna truly need an i7 processor, an unreleased highest-end card and 8GB of RAM, then it damn well better look much more detailed than what they've been showing us.

I mean, I know the character models are quite detailed, but look at the environment - the grass/bushes/cars for example. I see absolutely no particular attention given to those details. Are we supposed to believe that the game needs those near-impossible specs just to run the character models alone? I think it's either an over-estimation or poor optimization on the developer's part.

there very high i have quad core phenom 6gb ram that i thought was pointless and 5750 waiting for nvidia dx11 cards to see the price and how they compete with 5970 i got £850 for new case and graphics card left over money from saving up for car and insurance

Core i7 I can see, nothing strange about that, its top tier, easy to list that.

8 gigs of ram would require the game to be coded in 64 bit, and being a linear game, I doubt it uses even much more than the recommended 2 gigs. This might have more to do with i7 architecture, to get triple channel, but a 6 gig optimal requirement would be more believable here.

Requiring a GTX 470 and 480, it simply has these listed because DX11 is optimal, and they are a TWIMTBP game, so naturally they will not list a 5850 etc.

I'm guessing optimal is Quad core i7/Phenom II, 4 gigs of ram if its 32bit executive, and a 5830/GTX470 and up.

The recommended specs are really not that high. Depending on how excessive they utilize tessellation, it may be the one thing many have to keep off.

I meet the recommended specs. All's good with me. I know my Q6600 won't falter in the light of the Core i7s. That just leaves me with getting a proper DX11 Card and we'll be set.

well i already have an i7 cpu ...... ive been waiting to go DX11 anyway since all i have is a 4850 (that has started to overheat) .... so i gotta take the plunge REGARDLESS of this game and i know im getting the latest best price/performance ratio graphics card from the higher end!!!

So i will get this game to bench my new graphics card along side crysis.....but with specs like these .. CRYSIS should be DETHRONED as the PC KING....

My Alienware Aurora with i7 920, 9gigs ram, hd5870 should work ok. I hope. I would like to upgrade to the fastest ram, and the fastest i7, and add another 5870 in crossfire though. I just got my computer THE day that they released the 5970, so I just don't wanna spend more money on it until 2011. Like someone already said, nope, this game isn't gonna be the one making me upgrade.
I can't believe someone would have two 5970's in crossfire. That must feel pretty damn good! WOW! over $1200 JUST in graphics cards. Equivalent to having the ferrari of computers!
