It's worth it. I am sure it will be an amazing game, but come on, seriously. Try to convert a pepsi drinker to Coke (which tastes better anyhow :P), it'll never happen. Will it kill Halo? No. Do we REALLY care? No. In the end, it's gonna be Halo fans (pepsi) vs. Killzone fans (coke)... And who really cares? I just think it's rather immature for everyone in the world that has a ps3 to be screaming about how this game is going to do so on and so forth...I mean, seriously. I was VERY guilty on the fanboyism before the ps3 came out, because I believed the hype...and I am constantly caught with a crow sandwich now. I bought a 360 6 months after my ps3, because alas.....it was just a better system (right now, not saying this isn't going to change....I still have faith). MS paid 50mil just for extra content, so Killzone 2 cost 20mil so far big deal. If MS paid 50mil for content who knows how far they will go, E3 should be good.

All I am going to say is their is a HUGE reason why they haven't shown the Halo 3 single Player yet.

The PS3 is at like 3.8 Million right now and sells under 200 k a month there is no way they are going to get another 2+ million by september, and Halo 3 already has something like 4 million preorders.

Remember the first Xbox? The only reason it sold anything was Halo. It was the only game for quite a while that was worth the price of the big black box.

Now we see PS3 in third place, lagging behind Xbox 360 and Wii in sales each month. So this is the killer app. This is the "Halo" for the PS3, intended to push boxes.

Sony obviously feels strongly enough about this game to pull off an event like this. I think it's great. I love my 360, but I'll be getting a PS3 once the price drops and the good games come out. I hope this is one of them.

If it isn't... if KZ2 flops like the original did, then Sony is going to be left with egg on its face and an even bigger mess on its hands.

I just have a funny feeling that KZ2 is going to suck big time but still hope that something else will emerge out of E3 and shine for Sony! The only reason there doing a show at the same time as MS is because they don't want existing and potential owner's to look at what MS's offering and loose interest in the PS3!

Why is sony hyping this game so much? I mean, if the game is great it can carry itself. It sounds to me as if Sony is counting on this game to drive E3 this year. Is it because of Halo 3? I sure Hope that microsoft does not make their conference 90% about halo as Sony seems to be doing with Kill Zone 2. I want E3 to be like last year... with a bunch of new games anouncements and surprises. Release a nice trailer and show us some real gameplay and then show us a bunch of new games and features... So, if Kill Zone does not look as good as last year's CGI and it endup being a disapointment there are other games to lean on. You heard that Sony.... this game better look as good as the CGI you showed last year... or the Media is going to have your @$$ fried for dinner.

Also, it shows a sign of desperation the fact that Sony is organizing an even the same day and time as Microsoft's show. It's obvious that they are trying to distract people and the media from listening or seing what microsoft is going to show. Sony fanbos keep those fingers cross and hope that this does not blow on Sony's face and This games does not meet expectations and/or microsoft show or anounce something that undermind Sony's effords.

guerilla probally spent less than 7 million to make killzone 1.and they started off with about 40 devs.

killzone 2 is reportedly over 20 million.and they now have over 120 devs.so that's 80+ devs that are now helping with the game.that could be heavy programmers and physics majors.movie animators and artists.could be something like renting the russian philarmonic for music.and getting people for translating the game for different regions.and some great actors.

sony is obviously banking on this game to draw people away from halo3.but it really could pay off.having a party,with ndas seems logical.they can't say anything until sony's conference on the 13th is what i'm thinking.

Crysis doesn’t even live up to the quality of the CG trailer and it will take a beast of a pc to run. An 8800gtx has 3 times the video memory of a ps3 and most PCs have 8 times the system memory of a ps 3. I have no doubt it will look good but the hype is just out of control for this game. Guerilla has yet to make a solid game and let’s not forget that sony hyped killzone in the same way they are hyping up killzone 2. Sony needs to get FPS fans away from the xbox brand so of course they are going to hype the hell out of this game.

I hope the game rocks and if it does I will surely buy it but I am trying to be realistic here. Even if killzone is a better game it will have a hard time selling more than halo 3. The xbox 360 is an fps machine, 8 out of every 10 games that come out are shooters. PS3 caters to a much more broad game selection and I know quite a few PS 3 owners that don’t like fps games and that’s why they will not own an xbox. The halo fanbase is huge and extremely rabid. The current install base of the 360 is much larger in america and japanese are not big fans of fps games.

A ton of shooters from PROVEN developers are all coming out around the same time, crysis, halo 3, UT 3 and haze. Killzone regardless of how good it ends up being is fighting an uphill battle simply do to brand recognition. Killzone didn’t do very well it’s not opinion its fact, look at the sales figures. Halo is currently the console fps king and has been for years. Regardless of If you like halo or not it is the sales leader by a HUGE margin. I am not saying halo 3 will be better than killzone 2 but it will sell better on name alone. Halo 2 sold more copies in pre order than killzone sold all together.

I didn't play the first game, and for the sake of argument i will say its ok according to many people i have seen write.. The game was ok! not a killer app for the PS2! So what makes you think that this will be good?

Just because a game looks nice doesn't mean its going to be good. You should know that you guys! The PS2! it didn't have the best graphics, but it sure as hell played some great games.

BUT who knows, maybe it will have good game play, but we just don't know!

the gameplay was there in the first game.it was just rushed to market.it needed more dev time.you don't see games like god of war or ffxii being rushed to market.plus those companies have experience and a lot of backing.god of war wasn't the first game made by jaffe.and won't be the last.same with square-enix.

What their showing and what their using to render those graphics are not even available to the consumer now. When they are they will cost you easily over $1000. wait to see what they have in store for Killzone for the PS3. I hope its all its cracked up to be. But honestly, I just dont see it living up to that infamous trailer. That trailer was just too damn good. But what gives me hope is seeing Call Of Duty 4. That game was kinda like the killzone trailer. But we shall see. I remember a day when Bill Gates said that when The PS3 comes out, it will walk right into Halo 3. A few delays and a Beta later, and here we are, waiting on these guys to give us a look at their efforts. Money isn't what I'm concerned about these games making, but what I can see is that which ever game has had more heart put into it will get more attention, and will have longevity. This creates sales, and these new game ideas will stir up the industry. if Halo is predominantly what it always has been, some may write it off as not pushing the Halo Universe to its limits, especially with it being the last game in the cycle. if Killzone is a standard fps with better physics and better explosions, it will be written off as just a tip-toe forward in gaming evolution. I want Halo 3 to be good. No, scratch that. i want Halo 3 to be incredible, for the sake of the gamers who will spend hundreds of hours playing it. If you allow Bungie to adjust little things here and there and play follow the leader, you will only see incremental improvements over time. Killzone, on the other hand, is a game that knows it has something to prove, because although it was a good looking fps on ps2 (check out videos on youtube) it could have been better refined. Killzone 2 is mysterious, dark, and morose. With Halo 3 the cat's almost all the way out of the bag, and it is a little lighter, and isn't shy to have a few purple characters now and again. I want to be able to do things in these games that I have never been able to do in an interactive experience. I don't want a Halo clone or a Half Life knock-off, I want the next evolution in gaming now... Speaking of "Next" when will "Next-gen" consoles be called "current-gen" consoles?

Each Media (site, journalist, etc) dont usually work solo. This means that they can be in two places. So for example, Ziff davis (1up show) will send a couple people to get the scoop on KZ2 and others will attend Microsofts event.

Personally, i hope the release media either good or bad on Killzone. I hope they are not bound by contract to be silent. That would suck.

All it is at the moment is a CGI trailer + lots of promises. You can't blame me for being doubtful. I hope they show off some true ingame footage at E3.

Before Halo3 beta came out, all xbots were talking about how good Halo3 will look and it'll kill anything out. Now that everyone knows how lastgen Halo3 looks now there excuse is, no game can match the halo3 gameplay. Graphics and interactive enviroments are a hugh part of gameplay this gen. One thing is for sure SOny knows what it takes to make a game great, I would assume Killzone2 will be great.

20 million? That's a whole lot of money. I'm very optimistic with KZ2 because I liked how guerilla handled KZ:Liberation. Imo, Guerilla has no more excuses to bring out a crappy game. They have the funding, manpower, lots of time to develop, and Sony backing them up for this game. Here's hoping they didn't waste all those resources for nothing and bring out a AAA sequel.

I'm not really feeling all this speculation over development costs. No one has proved it as of yet.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

Killzone 2 and 3 were farkin brilliant and way better than halo

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

Resistance franchise, Motorstorm and Dirt 2 which was fun as heck. Add Dead Space 2 as well.

PS3 ended up been a beast of a console, slow out of the gate, picked up steam, smashed through the finish line. The 1st PS3 slim is still one of my favourite consoles. So solid, great games, by the time GTA5 and the last of us had come out it was a clear winner for me

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

Resistance series and Killzone 2 & 3 remasters/remakes. Make it happen. They will print money.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.

Why remaster games that ps5 players can't access when you can remaster a 4 year old game like tlou2 that was already patched with ps5 improvements

Infamous 1&2 will sadly always be ignored by Sony, not even a ps4 remaster the whole gen, smh but uncharted, horizon, even days gone had next gen upgrades sheesh 🤦🏽 mane even tho Sony is still doing pretty good in the console business they are a lil big headed lol, I never played the resistance series but it would of been dope to see those games updated as well, we fans get lil surprises here n there but things we really are into having and being vocal about gets passed over like a mf 🤣😩

Remasters are a waste of time and developer resources. Real Devs make new games.
