I can't wait for this game, I truly loved Civilization 4.

Shaman5925d ago

Me to,seems like on this site rarely anyone respects greatness of Civ series. This game could come 2d and i wont care cus its THAT awesome.

blasian5925d ago

ya Civ is a great game but i wish there was another empire earth. The only thing i do not like about civ is how u move ur person. In empire earth its i guess real time u could say whereas civ is turn based. Ill still be getting civ 5 no doubt.

Shaman5925d ago

I played first Civ in 93,it was amazing experience even if i was 12 yrs old,i didnt like turn based gameplay but with civ i kinda fell in love, its great implanted.

I like more economy and diplomacy parts of game then fighting so i dont mind.

blasian5925d ago

Ya Civ did have that great aspect to it dealing with the economy. Made me feel like i had so much power and it felt goooooood. While empire earth did not have that much dealing with the economy and more towards war. Ive only played Civ IV and it was alot of fun, something that would just kill me was win my border was 1 block away from some fish or a material i would need -.- But just had to work to increase my border.

This isnt my type of game but god damn the announcement of this game alone probably stole 500 hours from my friends.

Shaman5925d ago

Have you played it yet?I mean its amazing, one of the most amazing series of all time.I literally begged my friends who are mostly fps/sports/fighting fans to play it,they were hardheaded but when they tried, they couldnt stop it...I remember not going to school to play Civ...its great to be gamer, great memories :)

Civ games are absolute time warps... I swear, you go into a Civ game one day and come away from it days later it seems. This is the best set of games I think I've ever played. I love Rome Total War too, though. But as far as Strat games go, man the Civ games are it.

aGameDeveloper5925d ago

I'd probably place the Total War series above Civilization as far as immersion and strategy is concerned (and hours per game), but Civ is easier to get into and you can also play when you have to do other stuff. While I liked Vanilla Civ IV the best, I loved the Teturkhan mod for Civ III the best of all the Civs.

Civilization IV (expansions included, especially beyond the sword) may be my most played game of the last decade, even though it came out around halfway through it. so much fun, so much time spent, so much POWER!

amazing game, definitely will be getting V.+

I know the shame. Not this game but I have about 5 different games with humiliating time in them.

sadraiden1213d ago (Edited 1213d ago )

It's about 4-5 hours a day, every day since launch.

Edits: bad math initially.

How ideas of civilisation have shaped gaming

Philip Boyes:
When I was a kid, I played a lot of Civilization 2. I played a lot of strategy games in general, but having a deep love of both history and sci-fi, the epic sweep of Civ 2 from prehistory to the stars held a particular appeal. I loved taking my little people from their huts and ziggurats to the world of science and advanced space-flight.
