The Digital Foundry blog at Eurogamer looks at the specs to the 4A Engine that powers Metro 2033:
"In a market dominated by Unreal Engine 3, any kind of new cutting-edge technology is instantly of interest to Digital Foundry. The 4A spec sheet we received from THQ contains all kinds of wonderful - as you might expect from the people also responsible for the technological underpinnings of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. X-Ray engine."
A look back at 4A Games' admirably consistent post-apocalyptic shooter franchise.

Metro 2033 mechanics that would adapt perfectly to VR, and the upcoming Metro Awakening by Vertigo Games this year.

The Metro video game series started with a humble b-list title, before building a strong fanbase and becoming a pioneer in the industry.
"[Editor's note: 4A recently announced support for the new APIs in DirectX 11 too, which will be supported in Metro 2033. Also be aware that while the 4A engine supports PS3, Metro 2033 will launch just on 360 and PC.]"
Would of been suprised if their wasn`t support for PS3 also.
"[Editor's note: CPU cores/threads mentioned usually means both normal CPUs and Synergetic Processing Units (SPU).]"
For the "selective" readers amongst N4G readers.
WTF is this clown going on about? Why did he post those quotes as if people would think a universal engine was exclusive? The game isn't in development for PS3 so who cares, most engines are universal lol. That's about the strangest "ME TOO" reaction I've ever seen.
*Bu BU BU the engine will work on my console too*
LOL For the people with [Selective Emotional Stability]&[Selective Comprehension] Just in case you missed the PS3 compatibility mentioned all over the article.
