Damn it, I was going to say the exact same thing! Can't wait though, especially for more details.

I've just kicked my addiction to Civ 4 and now this.

Didn't like 4... I know what your gonna say but I didn't... Though I liked the console port how weird... I love my strategy games and usually hate console ports... I hope 5 is gonna be a lot better though.

Oh... very nice indeed. This took me by surprise.

Can't wait to waste hundreds of hours with this one. Love the Civ games. :)

That is some exciting news! I've been waiting for a new CIV game for quite some time. They are so worth the money with all the hours I pour into playing them! I'm hoping for some neat innovation without dumbing things down.

Cant Wait for this one. Civ is what got me into PC gaming to begin with.. I just hope it isnt a watered down experience like Revolution was.

While I am at it, I loved Alpha Centauri. We so need another one of those

Shortstop5985d ago

And it's going to be released in 2010?

I'll be following this one closely. Haven't found a Civ (except for Revolution; that was just a bad idea) I didn't like and I still play Civ 4 relatively often.

It's about 4-5 hours a day, every day since launch.

Edits: bad math initially.

How ideas of civilisation have shaped gaming

Philip Boyes:
When I was a kid, I played a lot of Civilization 2. I played a lot of strategy games in general, but having a deep love of both history and sci-fi, the epic sweep of Civ 2 from prehistory to the stars held a particular appeal. I loved taking my little people from their huts and ziggurats to the world of science and advanced space-flight.
