You guys are over-reacting at this, goes to show what the 360 fan's mentality truely is. I haven't played the game but this review sounds very in depth and is written in a professional manner.

Edit: by the way, it's a multiplatform title...you have no reason to call it an "Exclusive" or consider this in any way a win for Microsoft, it's a win for Bioware...nobody else..not your precious 360 or Microsoft.

Mr. Jackoff, even if you gave the game a 1/10, the overall metascore will still maintain at 9.6.. so guess what? your opinion doesn't mean crap to bioware, because they know they have crafted a masterpiece and the majority of people who've played the game actually agree. So whether you're a phony motherf*****, a sexually frustrated or mentally challenged prick, you don't deserve to play a game of this high caliber.

This is a good game..I think it deserves a better score then a 7.5 though.

i would score it a 9 things that dont make it a 9.8. Is the armour,weapon and talent system which is a step back from the original ive pretty much played the whole game with same guns i know you can upgrade but i like it better if i can get a new gun 1s in awhile.

have about 12 hours into the game...

I was really disappointed in this game compared to the first one. It feels like they focused too much on the shooting (and boring dialogue).

Imo this game is closer to a 8.5 than a 7.5 but there are alot of truths stated here.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think it's a great game but if someone doesn't agree and can point out why in an objective manner I respect that.

The only thing that annoys me a bit is that the reviewer seems to be disappointed that ME2 doesn't play exactly like ME1. It's ironic since many reviewers are quick to bash sequels for the opposite, being to much like the first one.

Bottom line is that WKC and Mediocre Average Garbage got tore apart by just about everyone except pro sony sites and magazines.

Sony has had nothing but FLOPS so far in 2010.

All the while 360 owners have been thoroughly enjoying their superior version of Bayonetta and the highest scoring game this year & undoubtedly a huge contender for GOTY... Mass Effect 2.

It's not our fault that Sony punched themselves out in 2009 and now they're out of breath and out of their depth in 2010.

I fully agree with this review. The game is decent, but for it to have been perfect, all Bioware would've had to do was improve the driving and combat controls. That's it.
In comparison to ME1, or even Dragon Age for that matter, ME2 came across to me as very mediocre.

I guess it is just the reviewer opinion. Can't say anything about it. But here is the counter thoughts about his argument.

1. The driving around planet replace by scanning.
- ME1 one has so many of these driving around that actually doesn't do anything. The mineral u get only give small experience point that u don't really need. It is a waste of space on the disc and kinda take away the focus on the story. Not to mention that it is so tedious and boring (you don't have the motivation to do it over and over again). U are still force to do it though because occasionally u might get lucky and end up having a small side quests.
- Scanning actually meaningful. The minerals that u get can help in upgrading armor, skills, ships, etc....and it doesn't really waste as much time as driving around for hours just to find 3 mineral sites on a single planet that doesn't do anything for you. It is like a small break in between story. The only down side to it thought is the grand scenery that u get, but hey, it is not like there are a lot of variety in the environment of ME1 anyways.

2. The change in weapon management.
- you really have to micromanagement a lot in ME1. The goal is to equip your character or squad with the best weapon suitable for them. I guess some people like to feel that they are good at managing these type of things in the game. I'm freakin confuse in ME1 of what is the best and what isn't, cause there are just too many so call upgrades. It get cumbersome to keep switching back and forth.

- ME2 just automatically equip everyone with the best one, but also still allow you to choose which one fit for certain battle rather quickly and efficiently. It get u back into the action quicker, rather than spending hours managing to end up with the same result at the end anyways (best suited weapon). There are still a lot of different upgrades, but are much more organized in ME2.

3. Character development
- ME1 really focus on the spector that gone roque and the geth. Most of the side quest for your squad made are like incorporate into the main story. You just get it as u go through the story. It doesn't seem really important, since the mission to take down the spector and the geth is the main focus, not your squad mate.
- ME2 is about recruiting the people to prepare for the impossible mission ahead. That is ME2 focus. It is part of the trilogy. If you look at starwar, the 2nd movie has a cliff hanging ending. You do get to talk with them and even get to do a personal loyalty quest for each that are refreshing and different. What better is that, not everyone in your team gonna end up supporting each other or u like in ME1. ME2 actually force u to think more about your decision on whether to support one or the other. ME1 doesn't have that conflict between your squad member. Your squad have more personality than in the first one which i really like.

4. Downsizing the level
- I do not agree at all with the reviewer on this one. ME1 so call exploration, is very monotone. Same scenery, same building, same mine. At times i feel almost like i'm repeating the same mission over and over again. And the boxes the reviewer mention in ME1 are there as well, and u know what, they didn't really serve any purpose either. At least in ME2, they are there for cover. There are so much more variety in ME2 that make your mission feel fresh everytime. Each mission or each planet looks and feel different. It cures the dejavu problems i'm having in ME1 and i totally supported that.

And here is the reviewer ending statement:

I held my breath, I painfully agonized over each choice forced upon me, and was compelled to shrug off sleep deprivation, hunger, and sore wrists for the sake of seeing the climax play out. When BioWare is on point, they are on point. Few games can affect me to such a degree.

This is a very focus story game while not lacking in exploration either. The things that changes were the complaint in the first game, so i don't see them as a down fall in ME2 at all. I still don't see why he would give it a 7.5 (which is pretty low score in comparing to other very generic RPGs consider what he get at the end of the game.)

ME1 is still one of the best RPG (mainly because of the epic story). ME2 continue on with the great story, your squad has more personnality, better action combat (your classes are dramatically different this time around), much more variety, and really forces u to think about your decision. U can even see how your decision in ME1 effect in ME2 which is something i have not seen in any game before. It actually make me want to go back between ME1 and ME2 to see how the story plays out.

How it is ME2 is mediocre? At least state why you think so. It seems to me like you haven't play the game or RPG aren't your type of game. Even from what i read from game review, i still don't see how he gave it that score and discuss why i disagree. Arguing over a game score doesn't really help anything with your daily life matter, but it does help u to improve in formulating a logical argument.

It's not coming to PS3 people. If you knew a thing about business dealings, you would know that Bioware and Microsoft have a deal to keep this on Windows/Xbox. Yes, EA bought out Bioware, but that does NOT void a previously signed contract. Doing so would be illegal, and EA would lose its license to do business. Although I'm not surprised, since most of you probably aren't old enough to work or go to college, hence why you can't afford to get all 3 systems and have a great time.

I think they rate games too high anyway, a 7.5 should not be seen as a bomb rating, 5 should be good according to logic. What do you guys think?

I've played the game all the way through, done most of the side quests, put in 30 or so hours into the game, and I left it feeling bitter. Other than the improved controls, there's nothing new or good about the new game. The mining minigame was a pain, because you HAD to mine to get upgrades. In ME1, upgrades were as simple as killing things and opening chests.
The setpieces were dire. As soon as you saw 3 waist high crates, unless you had the IQ of a jellyfish you knew a fight was on the way. There wasn't the same suspense as in ME1.
The rigidity of the armour system meant combat was bland. How you ask? Well in ME1 I had some pretty beefy armour, so I'd be able to indulge in some CQC. In ME2, this is impossible, especially if you play it at higher difficulty levels, because you had a set amount of shields and health. I remember in ME1 at some point my shields were at 500 or so and my health was at 700, playing through on veteran wasn't a cakewalk, but it did provide flexibility when needed. The entire combat mechanism in ME2 was focused around cover, cover, cover, cover and not much else. In ME1 I could run around, shoot stuff, use first aid to replenish shields and generally mix things up during combat. I appreciate they were trying to de-clutter the game experience, but they also de-cluttered the combat experience and made the game bland.
I have no quarrels with the dialogue and the game universe, but there were more clichés than on a run off the mill hollywood film, to the point that the only part of the story that really shook me was right at the end. I won't spoil it, those of you who've finished will know, the cinematic where you involuntarily go "holy s**t!"

If this was developed by any other software company it'd be a good game. Not great, not fantastic, not perfect, just good. But because it's Bioware, and their heritage for really pushing boundaries in all sorts of areas, this was a massive let down, and I'd personally review it as mediocre, in light of their past fantastic RPGs, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and so on.

So I disagree with most people calling it a perfect game. It's been too watered down in all areas. The way they should've made it perfect in my opinion was to have left ME1 the way it was, improve the controls and further the story. Nothing more needed.
