BeefJack: Physics Lab Review

BeefJack writes: "I was an hour into Physics Lab. My nerves were taut, my mind focused. Twenty minutes of intensely scrutinizing the tutorial videos had granted me only clues, whispers of a greater calling. Then I did it, I finally figured out how to create a custom shape! No longer was I bound to a world of dull rectangles and puny circles. The very power of physics itself was mine to wield. So I took the next logical step. I put wheels on a crude car I made, which looked suspiciously like a giraffe, and crashed it into a little fort."

Physics And A Game?

So, I like to call myself a “gamer,” whatever that truly means, yet when I saw this new game, I was immediately hooked. It is called Machines Planet, and has an interesting and compelling mix of physics with pure fun. Essentially, you get to build wacky and weird “killing machines” and battle against (and kill) funny zombies; what isn't fun about that? And for you physics geeks out there (like me), you get to use your science skills to find the plethora of different ways to complete the levels. But don't worry, if you're not a fan of Physics, then you can still play this game and be more than entertained with the thousands of different solutions for each level. The other great thing about it, is there are hardly any flaws at all! If you look at the FAQ on the website, the only questions you see deal with user flaws, not the game flaws! This shows that the game is here to stay!

Diehard GameFAN Review: Physics Lab

Diehard GameFAN writes: "The Indies service on XBox Live is hard to gauge. Some of it's games are flat-out steals, such as the $1 Robotron-inspired I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1 and the $4 College Lacrosse 2010: The Video Game, the latter of which is a fairly good game on any merits. On the other hand, there are too many crappy games to even mention all of them, and the most popular game on the service other than the zombie game is a "game" where your avatar becomes a ragdoll. Be still my beating heart. Though Matt Yeager tries to find the gems, I cannot get excited for the majority of the slop on the service."
