Fancy Playing Mass Effect 2 As Obama?

Unigamesity's Calin Ciabai writes: "Apparently, Mass Effect 2's main character John Shepard and Barack Obama, the President of the US have nothing in common… or do they? No, they don't, but you can still play Mass Effect 2 with style, as a president, if you spend some time customizing your own character"

Only if I feel like committing suicide repeatedly. They need to put Obama in PAIN too so I can launch him into walls.

dragunrising5976d ago

Probably not the best time to bring up the president as his approval rating is at an all time low.

Why again would anyone do this? Wow

JonnyBadfinger5975d ago

your the idiots who voted for a man who is nothing but talk...

but then again so did my country.... our prime minister has been nicknamed kevin 747, cause he is always jetting across the globe to shake some idiots hand and speak fluent mandarin (thought that was a fruit?)

Noctis Aftermath5975d ago

People need to understand that change takes time, especially when you are trying to change a country that is going through a recession.

You are nothing but a imbecile if you think he could fix the country in a short year or two.

MiloGarret5975d ago

Yeah because John Howard was a fücking genious right jonny? Not at all a slightly fascist ultraconservative american suckup, right jonny?

Raz5975d ago

Couldn't have said it better. Bubbles+

I've seen so many whiners commenting about him everywhere - ooh, we voted for a moron who spent 8 years driving the country into the ground, and Obama hasn't totally cleaned up the mess in the single year afterward...boo hoo...give us back our cowboy!

Honestly, sometimes I think the American people don't *deserve* a good president. Put the Republicans back in office and see how quick they start singing a different tune.

On a more topical note: I want an Obama TPS where he drops quips like 'Bringin' the change!' after some really messy gibs, or tosses a grenade and chuckles 'Aggressive negotiation...' C'mon, how much fun would that be? ^_^

Darkstorn5975d ago

Obama is getting too centrist for me. I realize that it's difficult to change a nation in which Washington is so intertwined with Wall Street, but Obama needs to have more of a take-charge attitude. This 'bipartisanship' is only getting us lukewarm, mediocre 'reforms.'
The sad thing is, his new policies are considered center-right when compared to all other industrialized countries...mostly because Europe is so comparatively liberal.

NOpe

Why i wanna play like Obama?

I dint know that in Mass Effect you can use the Traitor, Deceiver and Deception Class.

superrey195975d ago

The fact that you cannot correctly form a simple sentence explains your misinformed views of Obama. I bet you felt right at home with Bush's 5th grade vocabulary, huh? I wouldn't expect any president to fix 4 years worth of problems in one year. Baby steps people!

On topic...
Obama as Shepard makes me giggle at the thought.

anast547d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine547d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast547d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman547d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast547d ago

1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan795d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave795d ago (Edited 795d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
