That's good. I'm looking forward to what else they come up with but I doubt they'll be exclusives.

mastiffchild5948d ago

They won't be exclusive. No chance and had EA been in control when ME launched that would be on PS3 too right now but no new IP will be exclusive(even on console)to any platform.

Christopher5948d ago

Yeah, I doubt they're working on just PS3 versions of these unnamed projects. More than likely, they're working in parallel for 360, PC, and PS3.

What I hope they get around to doing is doing a game set in the Mass Effect universe playing as Thane and implementing stealth combat elements combined with their already present TPS and storytelling elements.

ceedubya95948d ago

but I would like to see what they could do while only working with the PS3 hardware in mind. Of course, it may not be any better than the Mass Effect games, but it would still be interesting to see.

young juice5948d ago

they could just be working on the ps3 version of mass effect 1 and 2. theey could also be makin a multiplatform mass effect clone.

ThanatosDMC5948d ago

I hope it's a new open world ip with swords and not guns.

OmarJA-N4G5948d ago

OMG! more goodness from BioWare on my beloved PS3! :D

Can't wait.

execution175948d ago

but then Mass Affect? or something along them lines

morganfell5948d ago

So 360 owners can scream Mass Effect is exclusive even though it is on the PC, but Sony can't engineer an exclusive?

It likely is ME 1 and 2 but I find the lack of equal consideration absurd.

captain-obvious5947d ago

i think bioware is giving this game to the PS3 instead of ME
but anyway
im sure I'll by it
just like i did to ME1 and ME2 and dragon age

zeeshan5947d ago

Nice! Good thing EA owns them now and we can expect almost everything multiplatform from them :)

FamilyGuy5947d ago

It's from Bioware and they're a solid developer in my book.

I just wonder how long we'll be waiting to find out what these new games are.

nycredude5947d ago

With every news of Bioware and every interview it seems it is becoming increasingly clear that Mass Effect 1 and 2 will eventually make their way to the Ps3. It doesn't really matter to me cause I have them both on the 360 already but it's good that more people will get to to play these excellent games.

FOXDIE5947d ago

does it spell Mass effect?

Troll_Police5948d ago

Mass Effect 1 & 2 on a single Blu-Ray disc. Bioware made Dragon Age superior on the PS3 so I'm sure Mass Effect will be too.

PirateThom5948d ago

BioWare didn't make the PS3 version, Edge of Reality took BioWare's core assets and ported in and did a fantastic job of it.

ViciousBoston5948d ago

regardless of who did the PS3 version it was PHENOMINAL. The game was amazing with little to few hickups. Can't say the same about the 360 version which was god aweful with the screen tearing.

Bioware probably will do an exclusive. Usually a studio like Bioware (and soon to be Bungie) when purchased by new Publishers are curious about the hardware they haven't been using. What better way to get used to a platform than by producing atleast ONE system exclusive for your team then working on the multiplatform games? It only makes sense to get yourself familiarized with it by focusing on one project for it.

Christopher5948d ago (Edited 5948d ago )

Yeah, it's very important to understand that BioWare did not do the PS3 port. While I love BioWare, they're not known for having a crew of the most talented developers out there. They win awards for good gameplay and stories, not really for technical reasons.

What I find funny is that people thought it important enough to do a different review of Bayonetta for the 360 and PS3 due to poor graphics and loading on the PS3, but not the same thing for DAO, which had the same issues on the 360.

SDF Repellent5948d ago (Edited 5948d ago )

Before attempting to troll, at least know your sources.

1. Edge of Reality were the ones that made Dragon Age.
2. PS3 version superiority is overstated. It has higher textures but the X360 has better frame rate and runs smoother.
3. You are a corrupted Troll Police. It is True! :)

4. Mass Effect was developed for X360 first and then ported to the PC. So the PS3 version will be like any other X360 to PS3 port, ie..Orangebox and Bayonetta.

Guido5948d ago

"What I find funny is that people thought it important enough to do a different review of Bayonetta for the 360 and PS3 due to poor graphics and loading on the PS3, but not the same thing for DAO, which had the same issues on the 360."

But that would have been representative of an unbias media and we all know that would never happen. Since the release of the PS3 the media has been jaded towards the console and shows us their bias in every turn. Had they actually done separate reviews it would have proven otherwise but since they did not it only shows us that what we suspect as bias is in fact the reality of gaming journalism today.

Sarcasm5948d ago

"they're not known for having a crew of the most talented developers out there. They win awards for good gameplay and stories, not really for technical reasons."

While that's true, ME2 completely obliterates that technically. ME2 is one of the best looking 360 games to date.

Troll_Police5948d ago

Well in that case Edge of Reality will make Mass Effect superior on the PS3 just like they did with Dragon Age.

TheDudeAbides5948d ago

of course you're not sure but it's always good to get somne pro-ps3 bubbles xD

5948d ago
Dacapn5947d ago

That's actually the only thing stopping me from picking up a 360. There simply has not been a single game on the system that has interested me enough to want to buy one, except Mass Effect.

But I have this feeling that once all the games are released, Bioware is gonna release one game, call it Mass Effect-which will just be all three games- on one blu ray disc. If that happens, I would have bought that box for nothing :/

MetalGearRising5948d ago

Thats nice nice to know BioWare haven't forgotten ps3 after all it needs some love too.

Back to my precious Mass Effect 2 AAA.

Karooo5948d ago

yup ps3 needs love and the 21 first party studios of sony are giving it that, what about microsoft 2 first party studios lol.

damnightmare5948d ago

We all know you aren't playing Mass Effect 2

You have just been sitting on N4G for a few hours trolling. You only play sales.

W831SOLIDSNAKE5948d ago

I don't think ur playing MassDeffect on ur Mass Defective Breakbox, u got the RROD again and have nothing to do but hate on the PS3.

Dumb Bot

agent0275947d ago

Cry moar. :-)

You're not playing anything. You're trolling N4G.

ginsunuva5947d ago

Bots don't play non-FPS games without multiplayer.

Lou-Cipher5948d ago

You might be right.

It's probably Mass Effect 1 & 2 on a single Bluray Disc.

Somnipotent5948d ago

these titles are so lame. [insert developer] working on unannounced [insert console] projects... well, yeah, wouldn't ya think? i could say NAUGHTY DOG working on unannounced PS3 game or BUNGIE working on unannounced 360 game and both would be true and ambiguous. can i have my own game blog now?

Kain815948d ago (Edited 5948d ago )

yes it was an Interview...he dont speculate on something...

hay5948d ago

Wow, you didn't even read the short summary. Bravo.

Somnipotent5948d ago

it's a blanket statement, obviously YOU didn't read my comment.

Dragon Age Lead Says Including World State Reactivity Felt Like It Was "Irrelevant Or Not Enough"

Dragon Age 2 set the precedent that the series would always carry our choices over, but was it worth it?

If the choices won't matter, why bother? Bioware works so hard at giving meaningful choices but rarely if ever carrying out the impact of such choices to the end.

Mass Effect - N7 DAY 2025

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."

I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed

Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.

toxic-inferno185d ago

I feel the same way.

I mean, how difficult would it be for them to release SOMETHING of substance? Another short trailer? A couple of proper hints? A short story set during the original trilogy, but focused on fringe characters?

Hopefully they're working so hard on the game that they don't have time. But still, with every passing year and so little to show, the franchise will be slipping further and further from people's minds.

Profchaos185d ago

Yeah agree it's almost a cop out since Dev times are 5 to 10 years just throw out a few seasons instead you get them done in a year

jznrpg185d ago

I still haven’t beat Andromeda. I am waiting for a lull of good games in my backlog

P_Bomb185d ago

So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?

Rebel_Scum185d ago

Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

EA Turned Down BioWare's Pitch For A Dragon Age Origins Remake Or A Remastered Trilogy

EA turned down BioWare's pitch to work on a remake of Dragon Age Origins or a remastered Dragon Age Trilogy, according to a new report.

twistedvoxel.com
Terry_B274d ago

Thats a pity. A remaster Trilogy would sell a lot better than the game they released last year.

TheEroica273d ago

Speak for yourself... Some of us are tired of remastered/remakes. Maybe this industry could show a little originality or progress a thought forward. Pass on dragon age remastered. Make a competent dragon age game or fold up shop.

FullmetalRoyale273d ago

They did speak for themselves.

jambola273d ago

At what point did they indicate they were speaking for anyone else?

Lionsguard273d ago

No, they would have just ruined it by retconning things with their agenda.

Ristul273d ago

Exactly, while I love the orginal game (origins) they would have censured the hell out of it and replaced it with wokeness.

-Foxtrot274d ago

I would have rather seen a remake of Origins which added onto it with more content than Dragon Age 4

If successful they could have continued on from it ignoring the other DA games.

Christopher274d ago

Lore dump in Veilguard was very good and I enjoyed the game for that.

I would not at all be opposed to more of a 'remake' of the first game, though. Not sure a 'remaster' with better graphics and whatnot would really pull me in if it didn't include more updated controls and gameplay.

Armaggedon273d ago

Yeah, your right about the lore, and thats the reason I like dragon age in the first place. I think thats why theres such a divide with veilguard. Those that fell in love with dragon age for the rpg mechanics were gravely disappointed.

pwnmaster3000274d ago (Edited 274d ago )

Honestly I tried getting into dragon age 4 but just couldn’t man and it wasn’t that political BS, annoying yes, but not game killing. It just wasn’t it for me.
I would rather they just remake the original and stay true to the original

anast273d ago

It's not a good game. But if a few trans and gay people upset you, then you have some issues with stuff beyond politics.

pwnmaster3000273d ago

Didn’t care for it.
Annoying yes, because it’s dragon age.
That whole trans and binary just didnt fit in and felt force.

But like I said it wasn’t game killing. I just found it boring.

andy85273d ago

Ill always have the argument you only see it if you go looking for it. Im not gay or trans, it was a 2 minute scene you can literally skip and then you dont see any more of it in the game. Didn't bother me at all.

pwnmaster3000273d ago (Edited 273d ago )

@andy
It really wasn’t 2 min and it was pretty much one characters identity lol.
Like I said it wasn’t game killing.

But to pretend it wasn’t stupid the way they went about it.
Sounded like something from our world would say.
Like wtf, i want fantasy to run away from our world.
I think it’s dumb asf to use real world terminology for real world problems in a game that isn’t set in ours world/altworld

Armaggedon273d ago

Understandable, it is a very different game in many ways.

@anast
I think it was a good game. Who is actually right here?

anast273d ago

It's not a good game. People people liking something is not always a good metric. People like sh%& games, I even like a few sh&% games myself.

Armaggedon272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

Thats the understanding people lack.

People set standards of what is “good”. Interestingly, it is a strange form of confirmation bias, in which people look for evidence to support what they deem “good or bad” about a title. That is why we have so many people that say that starfield does nothing new…when that is literally what it does..something new…for Bethesda at least.

I have had people call me trash before, moments before I obliterate them in whatever it is we are playing. Broaden your awareness, and you will know of what I speak.

isarai274d ago

That's ok, they probably would've sullied it somehow anyways

LucasRuinedChildhood274d ago

What was wrong with Mass Effect Legendary Edition?

Terry_B274d ago

Miranda Lawson..and a bit more.

franwex273d ago

Right? I’m actually glad they left it alone.
