Guido5971d ago

This title has it all. Great story, great graphics and compelling game play. Cannot wait for Heavy Rain!

Bubbles_Kitty_Cat5971d ago

Might want to take that review with a grain of salt...

http://www.destructoid.com/...

Sarcasm5971d ago

"Might want to take that review with a grain of salt... "

Hard to say since Batman AA really was a great game.

Now if they had something like Halo ODST receiving a 96/100, then that's when flags should be raised.

ProjectVulcan5971d ago

96 for Batman is a little over the top, but its still an easy 9/10 game for me. Its in the ballpark. Heavy rain on preliminary reviews and late previews looks like an easy 8/10, probably higher for most reviewers

Bubbles_Kitty_Cat5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

"Hard to say since Batman AA really was a great game."

Yeah, it was just food for thought and a warning about the source.

Heavy Rain could very well be awesome. Time will tell.

Ninji5971d ago

Destructoid trying to talk about credibility? LOL!

sikbeta5971d ago

Hey C@t

You plan on buy this game for "your PS3" or you going to search for every site to make a review?

On-Topic

Amazing, I know this game will only get Love or Hate, but I don't care, this Game is Huge no matter what Destructoid, Edge and more will say...

Bubbles_Kitty_Cat5971d ago

I'm going to rent the game regardless of what it scores (like I do with 95% of the games that I play).

Why?

Venatus-Deus5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

Batman AA got 18 reviews scoring 95 or higher on meta ps3 and 21 scoring 95 or higher the 360 so what you mean is that in your opinion it wasn’t worth a 96 but there are a lot of people who disagree.

And how can you attitude a score to somebody else’s description of a game they haven’t played yet and then call said game an easy 8/10?

doeman5971d ago

i can't stand it when the give away the ****ing score in the title. thanks morons.

ico925971d ago

excellant its getting AAA reviews

ProjectVulcan5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

Wow. Calm down furious venatus deus. Chillaxe already. So what i mean is that batman is an 'easy' 9 that means its AT LEAST a 9/10 game for me. Easily 9/10, maybe more. Which also translates to at least, 90/100 maths fans. 96 I might consider a tad steep, but i hardly dismissed it as unrealistic...

'And how can you attitude a score to somebody else’s description of a game they haven’t played yet and then call said game an easy 8/10?'

As for that then the first two reviews i have seen are both 9+, and previews have been glowing. I can also tell you now i have played heavy rain multiple times already. This is because i have been to several games shows where it has been playable believe it or not. So when i say that for me at the time it felt like a quality product even in pre release form i anticipate is gonna be worthy of a good score. I would say that its going to get reviews of at least 8s, which is a mere prediction and nothing more based on the factors above. Chill out already.

Venatus-Deus5971d ago

Nice stealth edit… good rescue!

ProjectVulcan5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

There was no 'stealth edit'. Editing ended on my first post half an hour ago, 26 minutes before you even replied to it... You have some serious issues if you take exception to my opinion that batman is at least a 9 and on my gathered feelings for heavy rain that review predictions at least an 8. Thats all i conveyed. What else i do? Kill your mother? Geeeeeeeeeez lol

baum5971d ago

Just like all of Bubbles_Kitty_Cat's comments about PS3 fanboys crying when Alan Wake scores better (don't ask me, that's what he said, I'm not his shrink).

@BKC: Go away.

DaTruth5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

I'm really starting to wonder which game I should put on the back burner; Heavy Rain or FF13. Maybe I should wait for both games to be reviewed(outside Japan).

Maybe Heavy Rain should win just from being released earlier. I need to do a few more things in Demon's Souls and build a water level in LBP(considering my other levels, this could take awhile) before getting anything else.

Edit: Lol @ above!

Bubbles_Kitty_Cat5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

I didn't say "when" Alan Wake scores higher, I said "if" it scores higher, and you are definitely one of the people I was referring to. lol

If it happens, you will no doubt be rushing in to call people "X-tards" and various other immature names (given your history here on N4G). lol

randomwiz5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

That was Eidos and that was an exclusive review

This is Quantic Dream. And this is the second review i know of so far.

MetalGearRising5971d ago

GamesMaster never heard of them anyway the well known web sites will give the real score: Gametrailers, IGN. all sony sites will give the game 10/10 which will be laughable.

Roper3165971d ago

and then what happens when those sites give HR 9's & 10's? Don't worry though the biased site Edge will get your back and probably give HR a low score for being to original.

negroguy5971d ago

10 comments in 2 hrs... really dont have any games to play huh..

Meryl5971d ago

maybe you will remember next time they score an x360 game with a good score, gamesmaster has been around for years, please get educated, even my 8 year old neice knows more than you do.

garos825971d ago

not that you look like someone who cares but anyway

Gamesmaster is the longest running gaming magazine in the UK. Its not a website dumbass. maybe if you even read the title of the article (let alone the whole article) you wouldnt seem to make yourself more foolosh than you already are.

anyways i used to buy Gamesmaster frequently even before i had the internet and i do tend to agree with most of their reviews.

Then again the most important review is my own. cant wait to give this a shot

agent0275971d ago

Awww, is the baby jealous? No games on the Flop60? Too f*cking bad!

Stupid troll.

redsquad5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

It's alright manchild, we understand that the whole concept is beyond you and that the lack of weapons enhancements, exploding barrels and inability to level up XP sends you running screeching into the shadows, but as HEAVY RAIN isn't geared towards brainwashed zombies like you, I don't actually care what you think.

-MD-5971d ago

"10 comments in 2 hrs... really dont have any games to play huh.."

So should he be playing games all day or is he not allowed to go on the computer for a bit? See it would have been funny if it was literally all day buy you pretty much fail as a troll.

Anorexorcist5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

Can't stand it when someone talks bad about your little boyfriend now?

How can anyone like negroguy [sic] who speaks IN DEFENSE of Heavy Rain, in a Heavy Rain article, by calling out an idiot troll like MetalGearRising be legitimately considered a troll himself???

Good God, I bet if you and MetalGearRising could somehow get together and procreate, you two would have the dumbest babies ever.

@ roper316

"and then what happens when those sites give HR 9's & 10's?"

Then just like a stray dog, MetalGearRising will come back and start eating his own sh*t by making some more idiot fanboy comments.

-MD-5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

You do realize the entire time you're making jokes about me defending MetalGearRising you're defending the guy that I called out right? Nice job on that one big guy.

The guy tried to troll him and he failed, hard. "HURR HURR YOU WATCHED A 90 MINUTE MOVIE ON YOUR COMPUTER? MUST HAVE NO GAMES ON TURDBOX360!" That's how he sounds, and that's what you're sticking up for.

Next.

negroguy5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

"a bit" .. mgr is not on for "a bit" he literally stays on the page ALL DAY clickin refresh waitin for new articles.. sry i attacked your boyfriend go cry to someone who cares lol bots.. lord help them

Really wish my old backwards compatible 60 gigger didn't die. I would have loved to play Indigo Prophecy before Heavy Rain just to get a feel of the developer's style. Love my new slim, it's so much more quiet. Would be cool if they released Indigo maybe on PSN right before the game came out.

Raoh5971d ago

my apartment was broken into back in xmas 2008 i lost 2 80gb BC ps3's :(

my new ps3's arent BC :(

so i downloaded indigo prophecy for PC :)

ProjectVulcan5971d ago (Edited 5971d ago )

Yes get your indigo prophecy on PC. Its so old and designed for last generation consoles even dated integrated graphics like GMA x3000/ nvidia 7100 runs it perfectly :P Any laptops less than three years old or so will cope fine

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Fist4achin2027d ago

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe2027d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG2027d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman2026d ago (Edited 2026d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.
