Killzone 2 is the BEST competitive online shooter IMO, but if Killzone 3 has no online co-op, I'm not buyin.

@UnwantedDreamz- Yep, thats one of the things that Halo has over Killzone. Killzone 3 could also use a theater mode and save and replay feature. The campaign could use more vehicle segments too. The part where u get control the mech in KZ2 was soo FUN!

I'm also afraid that it might get released this year just to compete with Reach which is dumb IMO. I'd rather wait till 2011 so that GG can take all the time they need to produce a MAJOR upgrade from KZ2.

@talltony- Because having no online co-op for a PS3 exclusive fps at this point would be nothing short of retardation. KZ3 for me will be the deciding factor for me if i get a 360. For me its Reach or KZ3. Whichever one impresses me more is the one I'm gunna buy.

Great news if this is to be trusted. I absolutely love Killzone 2 and still play it to this day. Very very fun multiplayer.

I hope if there is a Kz3 they ditch the online and go for more of a Halo or Unchated set up. No party system realy screwed that game, along with all the unbalanced classes and lack of a standard set of gametypes. Never was sure why the decided to go so off in left field with a hockey stick with how they did the online.

They're really gonna have to improve EVERYTHING now that they have a faster-paced, more maneuverable new IP Look-alike also known as Brink ready to launch.

Guerrilla's gonna have a tough time convincing people that KZ2 came out before Brink by the time KZ3 drops.

All they need to do is balance those classes a bit more, and trim the player count for maps down, and they'll be in business!

Ya, Halo Reach is going to be Epic, I always love the Halo gameplay more then any other game. That and Halo has always been the game to have a lot of cool features. People forget Halo 2 was the reason FPS games started to get popular on systems other then PC. I'm not bashing Killzone, just saying Halo will still be a better overall game because Bungie understands Core Gameplay and never focuses on making Halo a technical showcase. Which has been a problem in the industry as of late.

I played maybe one hour of Killzone 2. It's very impressive, but that first level was very linear. I hope one of the aspects of Killzone 3 that GG works on is at least giving the player the illusion that they can travel anywhere, because DAMN, Killzone 2 felt way too linear. For that matter, so do did CoD WaW and MW2 and the like.

One day FPS campaigns will have to get over the hump of linearity.

I love to use the Sta Light Machine gun and rip people to shreds in Multiplayer, the downside is that you can't use a class if you spawn with one.

I wonder if they will implement first person cover systems into the multiplayer this time, that will make it COMPLETELY TACTICAL!

If you don't want it then don't buy it and when you say "we" you don't speak for everyone here. Some people liked it and some didn't. Those who liked Killzone 2 will buy 3, those who didn't most likely won't buy 3. It's that simple.

I can't really speak for the first one, but K2 definitely did NOT fail. Not by any means. It was bought by many, is still played by many, and scored incredibly. So how exactly did it 'fail'?

Epic would be nice. Modern Warfare 2 pulled off an EPIC storyline. Maybe it was only like 4 hours long, but every second of that campaign was sheer Hollywood GOLD! KZ2 needs more story, more memorable characters, and more action!!!

Killzone 2's realism destroy every other game out there. The weighty feel of moving around, the bullet spacing of the gun shots, the atmosphere, graphics, etc. Most people that don't like the game are so used to CoD it's sickening. Call of Duty should be compared to the other twitch shooter Unreal Tournament and not KZ2.

Excited for the info! =D But I dont know why people are acting like Killzone 2 is the holy grail? I mean it was great, best FPS graphics, but the storyline sucked and it was so short. Also the ranks online werent great. And the aiming just got annoying in mp. I loved the gameplay though, and the graphics and the gritty atmosphere. Hopefully in KZ3 the mistakes of KZ2 will be ironed out. There was a lot of missed oppurtunity.

Killzone 2 is the best shooter period, no other game this year tops it for first person shooters. I played modern warefare 2 and people say that game is so great. Well i rented it played it for 2 days got bored of it because its like cod4 and went back to KILLZONE 2 which has keep me interested ever since i unlocked the sniper :) F*%king love that game. Killzone 3 will blow every FPS away and the funny thing is Xbox 360 users wont be able to even run that game if they tried because their console will be outdated in graphics and wont be able to support a game like that. Have you seen some games dvelopers are coming out with, such as rampage. They say they need to 2 xbox 360 disic for that one game and ps3 only needs one. The deveolopers are not even sure where to cut the game. This is going to be a big problem for Xbox 360 in the feature. You think killzone 2 could even work on the xbox 360 your dreaming!! Go play it and look at the SKY and all the crazy sh*T happening in the background i don't see any other FPS shooter even get close to that! Even the DLC maps are fricken ridiculous! Halo 3 doesn't even come close!

I agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion, just like I expressed mine. But saying its the best shooter period is just silly^^. I just felt it could've been much better. It was by no means bad, but due to the hype I was dissapointed as I thought it would be amazing.

Killzone 2 was a high-quality game throughout. If they appeal it to the masses with genre-standard gameplay like MW2, it will sell incredibly well and deliver a unique experience that consumers will love.

Killzone was overshawdowed by alot of games in 2009 it was a really great game as far as sales goes who cares sony will continue to support them caause they make great games uncharted2 was a big leap form the first that's what I feel killzone3 will be they weren't going to put all their cards out on the table in terms of gameplay in killzone2 they spent alot of money and time on the engine i cant wait for this game maybe some co-op this time around.

Killzone 2 was one the best games of 2009, and probably the best FPS I have ever played. I have to be honest, I suspect this game WILL be released in 2010, they were showing improvements to the game engine pretty much as soon as they released KZ2, so I don't doubt they can do it if they want to - bring it.

Killzone 2 was alright, but I found the controls (prior to the controls being patched... haven't played since then) off-putting. If they can address that, and get a decent story, I think this could go a long way.

gears2 is 4 time worst in controls and movement fact. K2 Controls were perfect. Gears 2 is slow and chunky yet not one of you guys would say that or admit it. Why you guys try to attack ps3 games and hide every x360 games big short comeings. You even did it with mass effect as well. Only when ME2 come out did you guys admit the millions of problems ME had. Im tired of x360 owners never fessing up to the truth. Same with halo3 you guys defended that 640p game that brought little to the table except a ton of useless camera modes and such. You even tryed to hype the forza junk. NOGT5 is superior game and series why do you guys try to fight that knowing dang well gt5 graphics and modes and features are the sickest. X360 owners need to start acting like gamers and pick up a ps3 and you wont have to be on the looseing, lieng, denial side of the argument all the time.

But in my mind not only is the game the hands down best FPS ever in the history of electronic adult entertainment! It will go down in gaming history as a true benchmark title that all others will be judged by!

I am 43 years old and have been gaming since "pong" in 1972 when most on this forum weren't even conceived yet!
watch all the "tech" vids out about the bullets, the real time ray shading, the death animations, the weather that affects everything from your grenade tosses to how fast you walk, to the lighting and on and on! then compare that info to any halo game, including "reach" and see the difference will be STAGGERING! Not saying the "halo" games aren't fun! Heck solitaire is a freakin blast to me! But to top the tech aspects off, the gameplay is fun as h3ll! Cant even say it is "fun", the gameplay is so epic it really has to be experienced to believe! So called "true gamers" should be chomping at the bit to experience a game of this caliber!

All Killzone 3 needs to do is keep everything from kz2 and add co-op, more weapons & abilities for the classes, some veichles, and some tweanks to the multiplayer like a party system.

I have no doubts about KZ3 though, GG along with Naughty dog are the most talented devs out there, i think the improvements we'll see over kz2 will be similar to that of uncharted 1 to uncharted 2

The MP is already ridiculously good but I would like to see GG push it to the limit and get something like 24vs24 or 32vs32. 16vs16 is amazing and I could only imagine how much better it would be with more players on screen. This is the first MP that has truly immersed me into the game to the point where I feel like I'm truly part of an epic battle. 200k Bodycount No HUD all day.

I remember when I first got Killzone 2.The graphics on that game are narly when your baked off some purp but still crazy none the less.I expect the same reaction that I had when I first played Killzone 2 "Woah...where...huh wtf?".

I easily can wait for next year for this game..already having to cut back on my PS3 buy list this year..to many games, not enough time or money to play them all

i really liked killzone 2 for the sweet graphics and the story was solid plus the mutiplayer had some really awsome ideas ....etc...but the controlles kept me from geting into it .they were way to diffrent than most other shooters

well in my humble opinion what would make killzone 3 a much better game than killzone 2 is the following.

4 player co-op online and 2 player split screen co-op offline, theater mode/replay mode, a better matchmaking system, more custom matchmaking options, party system and less things on the screen keep it clean and simple.

also from a story standpoint i would really love it if they did a complete 360 and go with an infamous type theme.

what i mean is at the beginning of the game players should be given the option to play with either ISA or the helgham troops. 2 sides, two stories one bad ass game. you know give the gamers a robust gaming experience.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.
