I more than meet the recommended requirements and the last thing I bought was a Radeon 5770 for about 170USD. This game shouldn't murder gaming PC's even if they were built on a budget.

Minimum Requirements:

Windows 7/ XP/Vista 1 GB System RAM (XP)/ 2 GB System RAM (Vista) 3.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4/Athlon 64 3000+ or equivalent processor DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 128 MB RAM (NVIDIA 6600 or better, ATI X1600 or better)

Recommended Requirements:

Windows 7/ XP/Vista Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 or equivalent processor 2 GB System RAM DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB RAM (NVIDIA 8800 series, ATI HD2900 PRO or better)

very nice. Guess I'll be chewing through this game without an upgrade.

I guess my new Intel 920 and HD 5870 will eat this game for lunch.

Hell yes, not even a quad for the recommended specs?, either it's not optimised for quads, or they were generous with their game coding.

Either way, this is good news for my PC, and even better news when I get a gtx380 in march

The minimum specs for this multiplat generation have been the same for a few years, 99% of the time the min specs are:

6800gt, 1900xt, 2gz dual, 2gb ram
this is even lower :S

To be honest I don't think this games going to be graphically stunning anyway, It should be really fun and nostalgic but you shouldn't need a really high end PC to play it on nice settings.

JsonHenry5888d ago

The game must scale REALLY well. Because I know the even the recommended specs seem kinda low for the visuals I see in the screen shots. Let alone with tessalation that is supposed to be in the DX11 version of this game.

evrfighter5888d ago

Makes you wonder if tessellation is that great if dx11 can produce those kinds of screenshots with that kinda hardware.

Dev's and AMD have pronounced that with dx11 you can produce even better visuals while taxing less system resources. How I can't wait to see a true dx11 game

superrey195888d ago

From the screens I'v seen of this game, it looks pretty damn good. And the relatively low specs make it even more impressive. This is the first game that has motivated me to buy a DX 11 card but it doesn't seem like its necessary just yet.

y0haN5888d ago

Wow I can still max this out according to their recommended specs. I was thinking a CPU from 2006 would start to stutter at 2010's games.. but no.

sorceror1715888d ago

The original PC AvP's system requirements were claimed to be "P3 or Athlon 450 MHz or higher, 128MB RAM or higher, 16MB DirectX 8 compatible D3D video card, etc."

But it was difficult to play with that hardware - and when there were more than one or two aliens on screen, it became a slideshow. I definitely needed an upgrade to play it well.

Maybe Rebellion's being honest this time, but I'd bed the "recommended" requirements are the *practical* minimum. (That being said, I enjoyed the original game, and look forward to this one. Fortunately, my current PC is right around the "recommended" level.)

Surprisingly low considering how sick this game looks.

dirthurts5888d ago

This is good though. It ensures good frame rates assuming it's programmed well.

fossilfern5888d ago (Edited 5888d ago )

all i need is windows 7 for the DX11 features like tessellation but i just got my new 5850 5 days ago and its amazing :D!!!! cant wait to get this bad boy running on it :)

Nihilism5888d ago

Dude, who told you you need windows 7?, if you have vista it also supports DX11, you probably already have the DX11 update, just use the windows updater if not. But if your still using vista....then yeah, no soup for you

Bodster5888d ago

Looks like my computer will be running this game with ease :) Cant wait for this to release.
