Mass Effect 2 EB Games Launch Events Announced

Traditionally game retailers hold midnight launches to celebrate the release of a big new game, but EB Games is doing things a little differently for Mass Effect 2. Its launch will be on Thursday, the 28th of January, and will take place from 7:00am until 10:00am; the idea being that people can come along before going to work or school. There will be three launch events taking place in EB's Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne city stores – that's Shop 245 Albert Street in Brisbane, 67 Swanston Street in Melbourne and 403 George St in Sydney.

For Sale - My Grandma, comes with a few miles on the clock but lots of experience and a decent cook. £200 ono

Money is needed for the the awesome start we are having to 2010, first ME2, then Bioshock 2, then Heavy Rain, then GOW 3 :)

BeaArthur5984d ago

Easily the best start to a year that I can remember.

BeaArthur5984d ago

That is a whole lot of unnecessary crap for a game launch. The autograph would be cool but I could do without the rest of it. Just let me get the game and go home so I can play it.

John_Dylan5984d ago

Youre going to have so much time to play it when you get home... Wouldnt you rather meet up with fellow ME fans, listen to free DJ and Light displays while drinking free V wearing a ltd. ed. ME shirt?

All part of the experience man. Definitely going to this one, never been so happy to live in Sydney before.

BeaArthur5984d ago

No actually I would rather not do all that. I can think of about 100 things I would rather do than experience all that.

THIS IS AWESOME. Jealous I am.

I would love to have that kind of thing over here in Los Angeles. You meet some really cool people and devs since more than a few studios operate over here. And the ladies of course, the lady gamers.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast546d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine546d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast546d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman546d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast546d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave794d ago (Edited 794d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
