The puzzles start off very simply, perhaps too simply. The initial puzzles are so easy it seems like they're doing little more than just checking to see if you have opposable thumbs. That's fine for longer games, but here it means the entire first episode is terrible value. To further confound the issue of value, each Blue Toad Murder File lasts an hour at most even without skipping cut-scenes. Not least because the game won't let you.

Pocket Gamer: Blue Toad Murder Files doesn't feel like a port of a PS3 game. It feels like a title that's found its rightful home after a couple of years of wandering. The simple gameplay translates perfectly to the touchscreen of your iOS device, and the gentle pace is perfect for an evening spent reclining on the sofa.
It's by no means a perfect game, and there are some issues with load times in particular with this version, but if you're looking for a series of interconnected mini-games held together by comedy stereotypes then you're in for something of a treat.
