Generally three red lights is caused by this error. It's 0102 in most cases, which is about the lousy solder points around GPU getting loose because of heat, etc (If you do not know how to look up the error code when your 360 fails to boot because of three red lights, do some google research). It can sometimes be fixed by a heatgun pointed onto board carefully (refer to the youtube video) I have fixed mine using this method once, and a friend of mine managed to do the same, after that we got some cooling precautions (Why gone through trouble instead of using warranty? Sadly, right now I am in a country where Microsoft refuses to give official support for Xbox 360 systems). Well it's all about production error, not software update or anything else. Sorry Microsoft, you are responsible in this one for having a lousy production line-up.

no this isnt news, so many sony fans give the xbox hell and say how its cr@p etc and yes i understand how its had its issues but between the sony cams mud slinging and those whos systems have failed the problem allways seems worse then it really is

nobody cares about the people out there who like me say their experience with the 360 has been nothing short of amazing
i have had my system for thirteen mths and its been fun as hell!

i have several friends with 360's and my mum too and only one has had a problem with the 360 locking up and thats thanks to the stupid guitar hero II patch!
everyone else i know have enjoyed playing quality games, no scratches or failures, im not defending MS im just saying what is true for me and my friends with the system, and also the GHII patch wasnt made by microsoft so if anyone is to blame its red octane or whoever made the game, stupidly the patch is still available and nothings been doen by the company

i know its easy to hate and say xbox is rubbish or whatever but people need to look at the bigger picture, imagine if it was just wii and ps3! no compitition means no extra bells and whistles and half the features we love in both the 360 and ps3 probably wouldnt exist
i dont have a ps3 and i dont plan to get one but im not a hater or a fanboy and its great that the ps3 is built well, i hired one out and loved how quiet it was
but both systems are so close in terms of performance how is it possible to love one but hate the other?

This is the only thing PS3 fans have against the 360 although it's been fixed but they keep comming, because it's the only weapon they have. Everything else PS3 vs 360 the PS3 falls short, games, Live, sales, fun and oh yeah games. Like I said you will see crap like this from Sony fans because the PS3 is losing the war and they are grasping at anything.

im a proud ps3 owner. i planned to own both consoles, the x360 and the ps3. with all this problems im not gonna risk it, maybe when the elites are more spread ill try. i dont want a console for 2/3 years. i want them forever cause im kind of a old school gamer, i still love to turn my mega drive on and play a little.

My xbox has broken twice. Last time it happened last month.. UPS came to collect my 360. Now we are more than a month later.. I still haven't got my 360 back. I phoned the helpdesk several times and they keep telling me I have to wait. I'm so mad at microsoft, I can't believe this is happening.. I payed a lot of money for that console!!! It has great games.. but the console itself is pure crap! Not to mention the noise it produces.. It's like a helicopter!

RSV I blame that game for scratching most of my games and allot of the problems that I have had not the 360.I had no problems and allot of people had no problems until RSV thats when the scratching started. I played GRAW since the first day it came out not 1 scratch.When RSV came out I was experiencing so many problems. RSV in 1 week had scratches all over it (and no I treat all of my stuff like it is priceless)so I took the game back and got another 1 and the same thing happened and not only the scratches but I also got the ring of death 3 times with that game,Fortunately I did not have 2 send my 360 to MS all 3 times just the first time, I unplugged it the other 2 times and it was fine.SO after playing RSV, I just had it with the disc errors and the noise it would make the red lights I took it out to play GRAW again. Before I put any disc into the 360 I always look at it to see if there is any problems with it there were none,so I put it in and I played for 3 weeks then 1 day I got a disc read error so I took GRAW out and there were 3 circle scratches on the disc and also some smudge marks. This has also happened with Call Of Duty 2 wich I have had since day 1 with no problems also with GOW and other games.IMOA I do think that RSV F*CKED up my 360,and most of my games. Back when RSV came out that was when the reports started to come out that people were getting scratches on their games. Could be other games out that do the same thing to the 360 bad production of the product.(NOT THE 360 THE GAMES) In 1 week 5 of my friends experienced the same problems with RSV and now have scratches on most of their disc's and 4 of them and myself had 2 send the 360 back 2 MS (not a coincidence)

That I don't know all I know is that I had no problems with my 360 or any scratches or any, any problems with my games and my 360 until RSV was played on my 360.GRAW was in the tray before RSV was played and after I saw the scratches on RSV I checked all of my games,not 1 scratch not 1 smudge,but after RSV all the games I have,have scratches on them.I had 2 take the first RSV back within 1 week because of all of the scratches and smudges and it wouldn't play anymore kept on getting a disc read error,the 1 I have now I have 2 wipe it with water and a soft cloth and try 2 play it 3 or 4 times before it will read,it also dose it with my ELITE I should not have put that game in the ELITE. so it's not the 360 (that is the disc read error.)this was the first game that ever had scratches on it and smudge marks.And some of my friends had the same problem,they had no problems with scratches on their games or problems with the 360 until RSV all in the first and second week of playing it.So it is just IMOA I don't know I just know all the problems that allot of people have had with this game and their 360 when it was played on it. (IF A TOWEL CAN FIX THE RING OF DEATH ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE)
