the ps3 will not be like the ps2 anytim soon cause most people cant take out a loan to get it

it has everything drtysouf21 said and more.system is reliable.has a proven library with a proven history.a bit steap in price,only a few but good hits early on,needs a better web browser(could be better).needs more motion controlled games and more support at the playstation store.

wii
love the idea.but the games don't support the controller fully.if it were added to a headset and configurable to different eyesights(so no one gets sick),this would be my first pick.real 3d gaming in my book.and nintendo always works on fun,then makes a game around it.and they need more games.needs new franchises like "mario jr and his cousin lou(sons of mario and luigi).something new.

360
it's got some games,but don't fully support japanese action and adventure.or quirky games.accessories are expensive and the system is not as reliable.not everyone lives for online play.has more support,but to get it,they abandoned their previous system and fanbase.not cool in my book.has a better selection of demos to download and more content because of time on the market.

but ps3 for me.

it is kind of anoying reading all these "which console is better" articles that all end in the same thing...PS3 is too expensive, no games, online isnt up to par BUT BUY IT IN 2008...XBOX 360 has more games and better online. they never include what happens to the xbox after the 1st year ps3 TRIALS are over. it'll still be there but it will be that...JUST THERE. be there for just a few must haves.

Here are my thoughts on the 3 consoles.

The wii is very innovative, lacks in the graphic department, has classic game franchises, and is great for parties and to play with friends.

The ps3 will have the best graphics in the future and some great games. Also has some good franchises like final fantasy, and is getting better in the online department. As of right now, has a huge lack of games, and a bit to pricey.

The xbox 360 has a solid amount of games with the best online service. Priced well, and has a ton of great games coming out in the future. may not have the best graphics in the future, but as of now, it is the same as the ps3.

i bought the only one i could afford which is the WII and i'm having a blast with it.. even my mom is playing it.. BUST A MOVE for her..

I'm currently playing thru SCARFACE.. which i haven't played b4 and its really fun.. but thats cause i didn't play it b4..

I want a 360 for the online but i'm afraid of the RINGS OF DEATH.. and the price

PS3 has nothing for me right now... NO GAMES.. TOO PRICEY

also with 360 and PS3 u need a HD TV to get all u can out of it.. i don't have any HD TVs in my house.. unfortunatly can't afford those eaither.... being a university student.. so the WII works perfectly for me..

and as long as the NEXT RAYMAN mini game thinggy allows more CO-OP then we're good.. though the first one was awsome...

I would have to go with the 360 it just has way too many good games and so many more coming out in the next 3 months. I know PS3 will get their games in due time but I don't think they will take 360 overall in the end. Just speaking based on what I know.

Its not worth the hastle

yes it is. if has great games n e thing is worth it. even if it does fail... all u do is quit playin for 2 weeks send it in and get one back that works. 360 are shoddy but i could care less as long as more awesome AAA keep comin out soon. the ps3 would be worth it too if it had a good game.

Most consumers look at pricepoint and games. After all aren't these really the only 2 points that carry any weight(to the average consumer)? You can take the whole Bluray debate to the bank. The fact is that HD content for movies only makes up 2% of the mass market. The other 98% could care less.

Most casual gamers buy a games system for Madden and GTA so why not pick up the system that has those games for half the price.

Also Microsoft is getting better with expanding their portfolio...RPG exclusives are definately plentiful. With games like Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, and Mass Effect coming soon. This can also be noted through all the Namco exclusives as of late. Also, I'm sure that Rare has a few suprises up ther sleeve. They have been really quiet lately and I expect them to have a few suprises at E3.

1 lad i know wishes he hadnt bought a PS3, Another is playing nothing but PS2 games on it (no kidding) and about 8 i know on my friends list on 360 have a PS3 but they are ALLWAYS ON 360 STILL.

The Thing isn't the console if you ask me. Its about the games. PS3 needs something that you say ''I want the ps3 NOW!'', and no please not future sh*t (WE WANT NOW!). If you want to play games you choose what system your style suits, what you enjoy the most. I don't like sitting on a edge while my friends play great games and i just sit there waiting for something great to come out.

Well I only put the 360 and the ps3 in the catagory of next gen. The Wii is selling like hotcakes but it offers nothing next gen. So out of the 360 and the ps3 the 360 wins easily. Their really isn't any argument or debating about it. The 360 has more games. The 360 has more AAA titles and highly rated games. The 360 has the better multiplatform games. The 360 has a huge list of exclusives compared to the ps3. And from recent sales reports, it's pretty obvious that people are starting to realize the ps3 is a flop.

Well atleast the ps3 comes with the blu-ray player for some hi def movies. And it will "upconvert" standard dvds to "near hi def." But standard dvds usually look fuzzy when upconverted. Fortunatly new technology is upon us and it's called HQV processing that makes standard dvds look almost perfect. So if your interested in blu-ray, it would be wise to purchase the new samsung blu ray player bd p-1200. It's gives way better video quality over the ps3.

Bottom line is that the ps3 fails in movies and games. :(

PS3: No games, high price, so-so online service, but good, reliable hardware

Wii: For now, play it with the family, break it out when friends come over. Otherwise, the big games are a few months away

360: Best online play and catalogue of games, great games coming, but hardware reliability is suspect

Gamers already know these things, and really don't need much elaboration. A casual/uninformed reader would walk away from that very little the wiser. A little elaboration on each point would have helped.

Gunar, your addition made little sense. For one thing, you added the $180 120GB HD cost to the $400 premium version, which makes no sense because you can get both in the Elite for $480 (Giving you HDMI as well). That in itself brings the cost down to $755, only $5 more than your hypothetical ps3 purchase, giving you the "full set of features". Not mentioning the fact that the HD-DVD addon and the Wi-fi adapter are optional purchases few people actually buy (As I suppose you could also say is the case with the blue-tooth headset for the ps3). Meanwhile the Xbox 360 has 60GB more memory and a far superior online service, both of which you failed to mention.

Look you can say whatever you want when it comes to opinion, just try to get the facts straight at least.
