IGN: Xbox Live Through the Years

IGN writes: "Truth be told, the Xbox 360 doesn't have a particularly strong lineup of exclusive titles. So what sets it apart from its competitors? Xbox Live. Microsoft was first to implement many of the online and community features that are now considered standard in current-gen games and Sony and Nintendo have essentially been playing catch-up ever since the 360 was launched in November 2005. Xbox Live is cemented as the strongest online community out of all three modern systems but it's easy to forget the service is over seven years old. When it launched way back in 2002 it certainly wasn't as robust a service as it is today. Join us as we take a look back over the last seven years and chart all the major developments in Xbox Live's life."

the first sentence of this article pretty much slays any 360 blind loving scrub. and what sets it apart is pure entertainment of xbox Live, which is basically listening to racist little kids brag about how good they are at playing halo. sad part is, 95% of xbox gamers, if you want to call them gamers, suck at games, despite the fact they compete at whos the best among the nubs...sorry if you disagree, but it doesnt make it untrue :(

I swear Sony is paying people to sit on this site all day long and if anyone says 360 FTW they will be met with some stupid arse response (see 1.1). Say, Sasanova, Mr. Elite what is your gamertag? I'd love to see your stats since you are owning nubs all day long on Live.

IGN and another one of their back handed articles about the 360.

""Truth be told, the Xbox 360 doesn't have a particularly strong lineup of exclusive titles. "

I should of stopped reading there.

For me, Live played no part of my 360 decision. It was games like Kameo, Halo, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Call of Duty 2, Project Gotham Racing, Forza, Banjo, Crackdown, etc.. These are strong titles if you ask me and Live was just a bonus.

You can't spell Ignorant without IGN.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
