Darksiders Vs Bayonetta

It's Friday January 8th, and two similarly themed games have hit UK store shelves, engaged in a tussle for sales and shelf space. They both concern skilled warriors battling for redemption. They both allow you to beat up celestial beings. And they both involve sword swingin', club wieldin', attack parryin' rucks on the grandest scale. So what all gamers want to know, which one is better?

Two games. Two warriors. One winner.

Not this $hit again...

imo, just like with GOWIII vs Bayonetta, Bayonetta is a totally different type of game. Both are action games, but the gameplay is very different.

I don't care what this article have to say.
I'm enjoying my Darksiders time; a lot.

That it don't brings anything new? ok.
That it don't use supb textures? ok.
That it don't have multiplayer? ok.

Tell you what, i love the helluva of character designs. Love the story so far, love the environment, is astonishing. Oh, I almost forgot, Darksiders comes with the Best horse design EVER in a video game.

And for those that say it lacks in enemies, i just have to say: "Shadow of the Colossus".

Also, it's been out just one week and there's talks about a movie and a sequel.

Bayowhat?

Feel free to fix my grammar, i have serious doubts with these "don't". Thanks.

I like Darksiders much better. More mature and darker theme, cooler storyline, and I enjoy the gameplay.

Bayonetta is fun and the combat mechanics are outstanding, but it just didn't hook me for some reason.

I have no interest in bayonetta. Maybe its sequel will be much improved

camachoreloaded88065965d ago

are raving that Bayonetta is the best action game they've ever played. Yes, that includes God of War.

Darksiders is cool for what it is. I'm 8 hours in and I'm already getting a little antsy, kinda hoping for it to end soon. The combat gets very repetitive after awhile. And the puzzles aren't particularly impressive.

Bayonetta on the other hand just keeps throwing new stuff at you at every turn. A TON more moves than Darksiders, more bosses, better cutscenes, the finishers (climaxes) are WAY WAY better...it outshines Darksiders in everything, imo.

While I don't have any idea what's going on in its story, it's not like Darksiders has a very compelling plot either. And I thought War would just...look better, I guess. Instead, he comes off as an avatar you can create in World of Warcraft. Bayonetta on the other hand...haha, she's the bomb, end of story.

I really enjoyed Darksiders. This is coming from a guy that beat Demon's Souls five times in a row. I thought the story, while not the deepest, was excellent. I also thought that graphically, it was a really good game, the use of colors and contrast really stimulates the visual palette, and the art direction was superb and cohesive. The combat was fluid and creative, when it comes to combos. The protagonist is in every regard a bad@$$ taking down demigods and dieties, and you really feel like if you were in those grand circumstances, those would be your actions. I really hope that in a sequel, they flesh out the character and backstory more, as this is an area that hasnt been touched too often.

This is more like comparing Zelda to Devil May Cry. Utterly pointless.

Not that I agree - not that it matters either, their completely different types of games.

mastiffchild5966d ago

Totally. does this gfuy understnd either of the words "similarly" or "themed" as from the article and knowing both games quite well suggests he doesn't have a clue!

They look differently, play very differently and Bayonettas a way purer H/S game than D'siders with it's Zelda influenced puzzles and such. There's just no direct fight here at all as there isn'trbetween Bayonetta and GOW but we still get that too!Silly comparison, imo, plain daft.

Bazookajoe_835966d ago

That was after trying the Bayonetta demo, im not 12 so i didnt like it. So then i decided to buy Darksiders, ive played 2 hours and it´s all good so far.

SilverSlug5965d ago

You are 13.

I'm 23 years old and I like quality over quantity. Bayonetta > Darksiders.

mrv3215965d ago

Because a person is twelve you think he likes Palinetta because she is seen as attractive. Or it could be the intutuive controls, the good graphics and the fluid movement.

morganfell5965d ago (Edited 5965d ago )

Here here, I agree. Darksiders is definitely the better title. And the story is key in this decision. The free roam environment, voice acting, and RPG gameplay all make a remarkable experience.

Do I win whatever pissing contest we're having? :)

I prefer Darksiders, but I can understand the appeal of Bayonetta. I'll probably grab Bayonetta from a friend once they're done with it, but I'd rather support a new developer with a rather clever IP than a game that is hyped to Hell.

What Darksiders does (action RPG with puzzle, adventure elements), it does very well. I'd like to see a sequel to this game.

I could definitely see a Bayonetta/Dante game. Imagine them initially battling each other before eventually teaming up to take on the big baddies. Now, imagine what their child(ren) would be like.

-Foxtrot454d ago (Edited 454d ago )

Bayonetta and Dante I could see but even then with how their lore differs it's a hard sell. For the others...I just can't see it at all.

I feel he's just saying whatever comes to him online

jwillj2k4454d ago

Same universe doesn’t mean same world or galaxy

SeTTriP453d ago

Bayonetta is a witch who enter contracts with demons for power and Dante is a demon, not really hard to connect.

They could even write in an alliance between the umbra witches and sparda.

-Foxtrot453d ago

On the surface yeah but the actual lore the two games have given us if you go into it...not so much.

micdagoat19453d ago

would be great if switch 2 upgrades resolution and frame rate on bayonetta 2
