Mass Effect 2 Will Own In January

Mass Effect has come a long way since November 2007 and now being one of the top ranked Xbox360 exclusives they are set to own the charts in January. Mass Effect 2 will face some serious competition but in the end, the gamers seem to have already chosen a victor and that's Shephard.

What did you expect? Bad sales figures? Psshh. Mass Effect 2 straight up kicks ass. I only wish PS3 owners had the chance to experience it. There's always that one game on the opposing console you secretly want to play. Maybe two or three actually. For PS3 owners, this is that game. For 360 owners, it's Uncharted 2. As for Bioware, they've already made January their b*tch. With the preorders alone, my friend. So tell me, are you ready? Are you ready for some... Mass Effection? Well pucker up buttercup cause this sh*t is gonna take your inner nerdism for one hell of a mindbending, face-melting, cheek flappin, eye-watering, titty-twistin, ass-kicking, 50-hour rollercoaster ride comparable only to absolutely NOTHING you know. So don't even try it. It's going to be that badass. See you in line. 01/26/2009

Luckily I have Dragon Age a RPG which I've barely played to keep me from going Mass Effected by not having Mass Effect

Seriously why would Bioware release these two game so close together it's like competing with yourself.

when they say it's a 360 exclusive, they're referring to the 3 next-gen consoles: the PS3, 360, and Wii. Mass Effect 2 is available only on the 360, and not on the other consoles its competing with. Microsoft doesn't consider the PC to be competition. Ask any Xbox public relations guy yourself, they'll tell you the same thing. Seriously guys, these 360/PC games will continue to be seen as 360 exclusives, whether you like it or not. Time to stop being anal about it all.

joydestroy5977d ago

yes, yes it will. one of my MOST anticipated 360 titles this year easily.

"All I'll say is there is a lot of fanboys that have a gaming pc when it's convenient for them."

So you know everyone that has a gaming pc and everyone who claims they do? I highly doubt that.

Raf1k15977d ago

Because they're Bioware games and they know both will sell.

Stating the obvious. Who doesn't know this.

I agree that this is an amazing game but it isn't an exclusive you dumbfuks! It's on PC aswell and the PC version I think is way better!

Mass Effect 1 sold less than average shooters like Lost planet, barely crossing 2 million. FF on PS3 outsold ME in 2 weeks in Japan alone. Might be a good idea not to hype this as a champion for the 360, as with such poor sales, it wont be long before EA is forced to port this to PS3

kraze075977d ago

Selling more than 2 million is considered poor sales? WTF???

CrippleH5977d ago

It's basically a rule for SALES fanboys. It's ridiculous I know.

GameOn5977d ago

What happened to Quality>Sales

ceedubya95977d ago

And how do you compare an action RPG on its second game, to a franchise like Final Fantasy, that's been extremely popular for years?

Steffl3r5977d ago

Im sure FF sold 10000000000000000000 copies its first week first game ever to right? No. I didnt hear about ME actually until the big FOX News scandal. Just last year I think my friend decided he would sell me his copy for $15, and I have absolutely fallen in love. Mass Effect has built ALOT of steam since its first day on the market and its building steam faster than Commander Shepard can save the galaxy. Which thats saying something seeing as it took me 30-40 hours =P

bacon135977d ago

Sales talk is rubbish in every way. A game doesn't have to hit any set #. If a game makes a profit in the end its a success, regardless if it sells 50K or 2 million

anast527d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine527d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast527d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman527d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast526d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan775d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave775d ago (Edited 775d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
