I think Disney should sue Capcom for this game. They own the Rocketeer property rights and I'd swear they were one in the same with a few tweaks. I was interested in this game but now it seems to have fallen into obscurity with a slipped fall release date this one might end up being below average and that's a shame. Bring on the Rocketeer, though. I think that character should/could be explored in a video game again.

Baka-akaB5953d ago

hum you do realise the rocketeer is basically an hommage and a franchise inspired by other stuff , obviously predating it .

So what they can get the inspiration and rip it off for rocketeer and shouldnt suffer the same fate ?

nogolis5953d ago (Edited 5953d ago )

That predates the Rocketeer? I do believe the rocketeer has been around since the late 40's to early 50's, man. He appeared in a serial called "King of the Rocket men" if I do remember correctly. Then again, I also remember him just being called "rocket man" in those serials, too.

In any event, the Rocketeer himself was coined in the late 70's to early 80's and is owned by Disney. I still believe their is an infringment here.

Baka-akaB5953d ago (Edited 5953d ago )

not at all the same . It's the rocketman .. then later featured in the rocketeer's series wich only date from 82.

The Rocketeer is Cliff Secord , the original rocketman is Jeff King

The rocketeer is basically hommage to pulp comics , and so features many old characters such as the rocketman and doc savage .
Not to mention that many other comics were inspired with that stuff , way before 82 , from marvel , dc and many other publishers .

LIke i said you cant just get heavy inspirations from an old franchise , and decide people shouldnt be allowed the same .
I'm sure if Dark void was setting off copyrights alarms , disney would have happily sued already .

free2game3655953d ago

Maybe robert heinlein's family should sue them too, considering the book starship trooper shad power armor with jetpacks

Baka-akaB5953d ago

Human using rockets to fly as heroes or villain has been far too common in novels , pulp and superhero comics back in the days , for Rocketeer (again didnt exist before 82) to make any kind of claims .

bacon135953d ago

The Rocketeer? Really? I thought that movie was lame when I was 7. It would make an even lamer next gen game. As stated above, there are plenty of examples of men with jetpacks throughout comics, books, tv and film. There is no grounds for infringement........and The Rocketeer blows.

Also I bet the PC version gets delayed before this releases. And I bet the console ones still bomb without the evil PC version to hurt the console sales with it's piracy.

toaster5953d ago

What does piracy and sales have to do with system requirements? lol Please troll somewhere else.

Most people can already play this game. Those requirements aren't bad at all! It's very common actually.
Pshhh and who says people need a super rig to play PC games?

nogolis5953d ago (Edited 5953d ago )

I have a sharp computer with a killer grafix card but PC gaming is boring and stiff. It's uncomfortable and not appealing. Sitting on a PC playing video games is like getting a colonoscopy. Say what you will or want, PC gaming is non existent for a reason. People steal games for the PC and pirate them because they're not worth the asking price. More often than not, people steal these games to demo them to see if they want the comfortable console version.

Sad but true.

dirthurts5953d ago (Edited 5953d ago )

You're missing something...
You do realize that most multiplatform games are on pc right? And with better graphics audio and controll...right? And you can still use that Xbox 360 controller wireless right? And you can even play on that big screen at insane resolutions and 7.1 hd audio...
Or wait. You probably missed all that...

nogolis5953d ago

I've never gotten a PC controller 1 to work on a PC game. I've went in and even modifed the doc code to adhere to the xbox 360's controller and I still can't get it to work. Oblivion, COD4, COD5, Call of Jauirez 2, Left4Dead 2, Dead space, Ghostbusters, Crysis, Batman Arkham, and the list goes on and on and on... I've got all these games for the Pc and none of them work with a controller, let alone an xbox 360 one. They say they do but they don't.

One stick is always for moving and the other never works for looking. I'm running windows 7, 8 gb of ram, with a 1gb grafix card by the way. I run Crysis at full settings.

peeps5953d ago

so u hate pc gaming but have bought a load of pc games (prob pirated by the way ur talking) and yet u've got a powerful pc. whats the point?

dirthurts5953d ago (Edited 5953d ago )

Yes. Yes they do work. And they work great. Even better than the 360 actually.
I have the 360 controller and mine works amazingly well on all those games, except the Call of Duty games, which in fact do not support controllers. There are free programs that make it work though. What would be the point anyway? Mouse is better for fps. Any "Games for Windows" game supports the xbox 360 controller.
You are aware you actually need the wireless receiver plugged in right?
I'm not sure what you're doing wrong. Maybe your hardware is busted. Maybe your rig is busted...maybe you're busted.
Just so you know, we don't need your specs for this particular conversation. Thanks though.
If I couldn't get a controller to work I'd be mad too. But I infact am very happy as a pc gamer. Playing Red Faction right now. : )

bozebo5953d ago (Edited 5953d ago )

not all games for windows support the controller. its true microsoft say they are meant to, but i know world at war doesnt, and i bet many others dont either.

plus, mouse ftw

Letros5953d ago

@nogolis

First off, controller + FPS = fail.

BUT I just so happen to have my 360 controller plugged into my PC at all times, and when I boot up Crysis a confirmation box appears (CONTROLLER DETECTED)

Try plugging in the controller BEFORE you boot up the game.

free2game3655953d ago

If anyone didn't get what I meant I was making reference to how capcom needlessly delay PC versions of games because they think piracy effects overall sales, they did it with Bionic Commando and it BC flopped hard in sales for consoles anyway.

dirthurts5953d ago

I don't see Windows 7 listed. Surely it will run...

tdrules5953d ago

oh how you kid me!!!
a game running on UE3 being a hard game to run, this is modern technology we're talking about not 3/4 year old stuff!

jjesso5953d ago

nogolis u must be one big retard if cant set up 360 controller on pc lol. I use ps3 controller in ds3 tool that emulates the 360 controller all games will think the ps3 controller is xbox controller and this works on all my pc games batman aa crysis crysis warhead left for dead 1+2 dead space and cod 4 x men origins so if i can set up ds3 tools to emulate the 360 controller i am sure you can install some software connect wired controller in usb port or if your connecting wireless controller you can connected your wireless gaming receiver to your pc you can not connect wireless controller through the usb charger cable and use it on your pc there is no way to do this. and why have 8gb of ram i thought crazy upgrading my 6gb ?

bozebo5953d ago

8GB would only really be needed for rendering or compiling complex things. The optimal amount would be 4 (ddr2 dual channel) or 6 (ddr3 triple or dual channel), to balance latency, frequency, stability and capacity.

For somebody who is a flaming idiot he probably has 8GB thinking it makes him cooler than other people :/

dirthurts5953d ago

The reason he mentions his system specs.

Dark Void is a pretty decent game, I have it on disc for PS3 but hey... I'll grab it digitally to play on my Series S. Hard Corps Uprising is a freaking sweet (and hard) game. I've had that for a while and still cannot beat it.

Supernintendo851850d ago

@darthv72 Jesus Christ LOL, how on earth could you be downvoted for your opinion of the two games that are decent? This community sometimes i swear...

darthv721850d ago

It must be those that have beaten Hard Corps Uprising. That is their way of telling me I need to get good.

RazzerRedux1850d ago

Maybe they are downvoting because they disagree with his opinion.

Fritzwochel1850d ago

This is why sites like Reddit are trash. They auto-punish users who gets downvoted - thus if you have an opinion other than the poitical correct majoirty, you're getting all sorts of blocks.

CrimsonWing691850d ago

I'm all in for Dark Void and Hard Corps, but look... people have opinions. Maybe a majority of peeps don't agree with his opinion so they hit the disagree button, I don't know it makes sense to me.

Silly gameAr1850d ago (Edited 1850d ago )

@Supernintentendo

Best thing to do is not worry about those little arrows below your comment, and just say want you feel. You'll be much better off when you don't care about yours or soomebody else's downvotes.

On topic, I also have Dark Void for PS3, and it was pretty decent. Good enough for at least a playthrough.

PapaBop1850d ago

Since when do people care about votes on here? Everyone on here knows darthv72 is an xbox guy, he'd get more disagrees for saying white is white and black is black.

The Wood1849d ago (Edited 1849d ago )

Some people act like someone spat in their faces or they're credit score would be impacted. Some people don't agree.... .life huh

IGN said, "Dark Void is one of those games you'll play, beat, and forget ever existed."
Exactly my experience.

andron1850d ago

Dark Void possibly killed my phat launch PS3, with countless crashes and slowdown. So I have mixed feelings about that one lol. Mediocre game at best, and runs terrible on PS3. Hopefully the 360 version is better...

Chevalier1850d ago

Loved Hard Corps! But yeah get better 😆. By the time you unlock all the abilities you it just gets easier. Makes me wish they would continue with Hard Corps.

boing11849d ago

Yeah, Dark Void was pretty decent. Nolan North voiced main hero AFAIR.

Chocoburger1850d ago

Legit cringe when MS promotes Achievements and GamerScore. Sad state of affairs for them to be that desperate.

RosweeSon1849d ago

Making out those games are still worth $129.99 is bad enough 😑🤣 yeah maybe 10 years ago. Worth about 12.99 these days 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 ✌🏻

Father__Merrin1850d ago

Lol the Austria leak was fake then. This looks better than last months which was rubbish

*Truck Racing Championship*
"monitor tire wear..."

Yeah, that's what I want out of a video game. /s

What have they got in store for next month, Vehicle Inspection Sticker: The Game?

DOMination-1850d ago

It's a racing game.

It's no different than monitoring your health bar in an FPS or the time you spend watching a cutscene rather than playing.
