Many of those are overlooked gems for sure. I still can't believe how many people ignore the Shantae series.

Nothing new for Ogre battle/tactics ogre .... besides japan and a few t rpg nuts like myself , most people wouldnt have cared .

It's overlooked on every platform it get released on , playstation , snes , gc , gba , n64 ...

Hell many only learned about the game because of Final fantasy Tactics being a distant cousin , and shining a light upon it's creator .

I personally think Beyond Good and Evil is the most overrated underrated game ever!

It's played up quite a bit in the editorial/blog world. Actually, you'd think it was the second coming of Cthulu the way some writers gush about it to this day, so I do see your point to a certain degree. However, the average gamer (and maybe the average NP reader?) probably hasn't played it. Okami (which is, yeah, much better) and BG&E are perfect games for the newbie Zelda-consuming Nintendo fan to discover, so it's good that it has a mention on the list.

Also, after playing multiple versions of the game, I think the GC version is the best. They probably don't mention this in the article itself, but playing this on the Gamecube is a much smoother experience than the PS2 version; the GC version itself is a bit overlooked.

Lol... Nicely put.
But I don't know if I agree with it, since I have yet to play it. Got the Cube version in my closet. Maybe I'll give it a go when I finish AC.

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.
