Their credibility seems to be almost completely lost and the fanbase seems to be dwindling. This is all for good reason mind you, for this site named Modern Warfare 2 their Game of the Year for 2009. Now believe me, I know I am just a guy in his room running a small time site, but I at least know what a quality game is. A GOTY game is a game that one must've had to have walked out of that year playing. A game that no one should have missed..."

Sammy: "Sony disastrously and disgracefully shuttered Texas-based fan favourite Bluepoint yesterday. The long-time PS Studios partner never got a chance to ship a game under its new parent company.
This news hit me particularly hard because I believe it reflects the erosion of once-great PlayStation management that I think we’ve all been feeling for quite some time."
How was this allowed to happen? A studio know for excellent remakes and remasters were put on a GOW live service game? Something nobody wanted? There are so many other, more interesting projects, for me they were the prime studio who should have remastered or remade Bloodborne, what an absolute waste, I'm really annoyed about this.
Hulst should have followed Jim Ryan out the door, especially after his failed concord brainchild, execs really do only fail upwards.
It does concern me that they think closing amazing studios like Bluepoint and Japan Studios is smart.
I'm honestly surprised Media Molecule is still around. They put out what 1 game in the past 10+ years? I personally wasn't interested in Dreams, so they have been a wash for me since the PS3 era. Are they working on a new game? What are they doing?
Frustrating news, for sure. Hulst is on a major losing streak. Baffling decisions....
They could of let them do a Remakes of Sly, Jak and Daxter maybe the old Killzone games. Ported Demon Souls to other platforms. Steady revenue for growth becoming a 70 team to 100+ eventually.
As a PS Fan and someone that looks to new exsperiences not rehashing old ones I can feel for the devs but it does not move the needle as far as getting new video games.

Sony Group Corp. is shutting down Bluepoint Games, the PlayStation subsidiary responsible for developing remakes of video games such as Demon’s Souls.
Roughly 70 employees will lose their jobs amid the studio closure, a PlayStation spokesperson said, writing in a statement that the decision was made “following a recent business review.” Bluepoint will officially shutter next month.
Go f*** yourself Sony
Your stupid management are the ones who made them waste years on a God of War live service title only to cancel it.
This is insane, they’ve really screwed up here, what the actual f*** man.
This really sucks they couldve did Socom remaster or live service instead of milking gow to get shut down this sucks a good studio.

the site was probably gametrailers.com
Pfff... Everyone knows the real GOTY is Bonetown.
i cant comment about NSMB and borderlands since i havent played them but i played the rest and agree with there choices
also i agree with MW2 not getting GOTY
the multiplayer is fun but the singleplayer is a bunch of action scenes
pasted one after the other
My GOTY is Batman. Yet, Borderlands could win me over yet, I just haven't beat it yet. Uncharted could do the same, but I don't own it yet (Haven't quite finished the original yet, kept putting it off).
New Super Mario Bros is good, but there are too many flaws in it to warrant GOTY status. The final world has no bosses, the multiplayer has some bizarre design choices (Why can I jump on a friend and launch them directly into the lava?), and it never really does anything we haven't seen before... though the final boss was fairly epic.
Demon's Souls is probably THE GOTY, because it dares to be different. It's not polishing something already amazing like Uncharted. It's not blending genres to make a great multiplayer experience like Borderlands. And it's not redefining genres like Batman. It's standing out as something unique, which is exactly what this industry needs.
That said, my GOTY and the GOTY are different. I watched my brother play through Demon's Souls, because I wasn't a huge fan of that style of game. I can still accept it as a brilliant game though.
I still have to wonder though. Did From Software and Atlus even consider that they have made something so interesting? My bet is that they thought it was a good game, but never really saw it as anything spectacular. I say this because From's history that I have experienced, Enchanted Arms and Ninja Blade, were meh at best. Then again, they may have taken a different approach with DS.
it will always be a battle between Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls.
UC2 for its insane production value, content, epicness and of course..the Best Graphics of the Year.
Demon's Souls for doing what others dare not,and succeeding so well. Seriously, there are more innovations in DS than all the RPGs from the past decade combined together. Best bossfights i've ever played in my life, and definitely the best online implemented by ANY rpgs ever.
