but am I the only one that dont really like how the players move. It feels to straight and blocky like the characters are all robots.

But this game is EPIC win regardless.

Bioware's animations and eyes ...are disappointing but everything else is full of win ;)

WTF?

Why would a developer Mo-cap every scene in a large epic RPG with no CGI with beings from other worlds in it? They did a stellar job with their real time dynamic characters. LOL

Their software is doing the work because, the scenes are many and dynamic. This game is not linear and static nor is the story telling. Most games you are probably talking about(comparing this to)have a cutscene per level in linear story telling and only need to be shown once for any given level.

N4PS3G5999d ago

yeah..that makes sense too

we won5999d ago (Edited 5999d ago )

I read somewhere a few years ago their software's AI brings most of the life to the characters. ME2 and the interactive cutscens are even more advanced in ME2, with greater freedoms.

HERE IS SOME INFO I WAS WILLING TO LOOK FOR BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TIME TO LOOK FOR THE ORIGINAL ARTICLES.

procedural system-RoboRad/Face Effects
" BioWare’s overarching system is made of two major pieces of software—RoboRad controls body movements, where as Face Effects strictly controls facial movements. The Face Effects system analyses a line of dialogue, looks at how long the line is, and goes through a preset of head gestures. In doing so, it ensures each time a line is processed, the head movement is unique. Characters are made to react procedurally to the system.

For the face, bone offsets are weight and treated in a certain way. With the body, small gestures are weight differently each time, which makes the content look broader in scope. Writers can go into the system themselves, select which emotions to use (given certain face and body weights and actions), and the system takes care of the rest. Once the base compilation is placed down, the writers can go in afterwards and add in specific gestures.

The team anticipated localization concerns by coming up with a process for dynamically replacing shapes of movements in the bone offsets. With this process, they were able to easily transition the content to different languages. Same went for interpreting meaningful gestures."

I guess ME2 uses Dynamic Motion Synthesis (DMS)

Mass Effect is rpg lite, diluted for consoles. It's pop, which is fine, but it doesn't have the complexities of Dragon Age.

I'm sure I'll be able to get this in less than that. =)

Cold 20005998d ago

If you're talking about piracy then thats just shameful. Especially when it concerns quality studios and games like Bioware's.

Raf1k15998d ago

Yeh this is Bioware we're talking about. They deserve to be paid

good for you, and what about your 360? (if you even really have one.)

did you download that off of the internet?

did you go into a store and stole one?

did you beak into a stranger's place and stole their 360?

or did you buy one used or brand new?

El_Colombiano5998d ago

Ha you mistook me, I get my games on the best platform it is available on my friend. My 4890 will eat this game alive. No overheating either ;)

bujasem_895998d ago

what if the game looks nice i also like SCC but i also intend to play that on my PC so why make a big deal out of it?

baum5998d ago

lol look how MGSR and "we won" post the same inane comparison, Xtards have too many duplicate accounts

smittyjerkins5997d ago

graphics aren't everything. There are other more important parts to a video game too, like GAMEPLAY. The game looks pretty good anyways.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast536d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine536d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast536d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman536d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast536d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave784d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan784d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave784d ago (Edited 784d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
