I can not wait for this to come out since i spent so much money on my 52 inch 120hz Bravia TV. I embrace all new tech and will be more then happy to test it out.

And of course, PS3 is forward-compatible with it. It literally only does EVERYTHING. 3-D gaming and now movies.

I imagine now Microsoft will enable 3d gaming on it's HDMI equipped 360's (those that don't have HDMI will be out of luck, component doesn't support the frame rate needed for 3D and I doubt many 3dtv's will accept a 3d signal over VGA, as most tv's don't even let you get HD over VGA (1024x768 limit) for piracy reasons). Whether the 360 could output at those frame rates is up in question, as the HDMI port was grafted onto the box at a later time (which is also why even though it has HDMI, it can't do the full 7.1 channel 24 bit uncompressed surround sound because 360's audio hardware was not built with HDMI in mind). I would think it'd be possible via a firmware update, but I'm not sure.

As for 3d movies... a definite no go for them. DVD just can't hold that much data, and it doesn't have 3-d built into it's spec. streaming... we can't even do real 1080p over current connections properly (not blu-ray quality), so we definitely aren't going to be getting decent quality HD 3-D any time soon.

so I just bought a 40' Sharp 1080p 120Hz LCD TV for nothing. DAMN YOU BLU-RAY. Only reason I bought that TV was to watch Blu-Ray in FULL HD, and now your coming out with 3D. LOL....Im actually not surprised at all, I knew they were coming out in 2010, but i decided, i needed a new tv now, and itll be another 3-4 years before 3D TVs and Blu-Ray 3D become standard n all'. I mean...people are just now fully getting into Blu-Ray, so the next upgrade what happen for a while.

Guess I better start saving up today for another new tv :)

hyper, i also just picked up a 32" LG 1080p 60Hz HDTV and i knew 3D was coming but meh its no biggie, i wanted an upgrade now from my 19" 720p Sharp, its too small! but hey i have 3years to save money for a new tv so its all good.

I don't see the point in having 3D on PS3 or HDTVs I'm never going use that feature anytime soon and I never liked the old 3D from back in the day when they was using red and blue glasses and I'm not going to like this either.

O MY God! this is pointless I don't like 3d at all I never liked it from back in the day and not using it for games or movies I am sticking with HD blu-ray only.

I think the reality of 3D is gonna kick in the first time you have guests and not enough glasses.

to all those going to buy a 3D ready tv hold off a bit. Those 3D ready tv's (the ones out right now) are NOT providing full 1080P to each eye. Infact its around half of that. The TVs on the market just dont have the bandwidth to supply that kind of data. I think it needs around 6 gigaflops. So be like me and wait till those TV's are on the market that can do that. Should be sometime after CES I hope.

and I lol everytime I posted, that I wish my 360 had a BlueRay drive...those dissing on that are really looking stupid now...
