I used to like EA.

But not really anymore.

Now someone really needs to start a petition to stop this from happening. Does Ubisoft not know how the gaming community feels about EA?

Ubisoft is my favorite video game company, and EA is my least favorite. It would suck if Ubisoft merged.

I think everyone is overreacting. They make many sports games because they sell a lot, and they keep selling because they are not bad. Sometimes they are better, sometimes they go down, but they have rarely if ever truly sucked.

Black was good, Crysis looks great, The Sims and every other sims city games are great. Spore has me very excited, same thing with Army of Two. Not everything EA is shiit and sequels (I don't like sports games in general, but Madden keeps selling because people still enjoy it; I don't understand what my bro and his friends see in the game, but they tell me it's not always the same game and not just new stats, but whatever). Hell, several lord of the rings games they've made are pretty good. Not killer games, but definitely good ones (not all of them).

I think there's a lot of unfounded hate against EA, mainly because they're huge and number one. Please don't confuse me with an EA fan, I'm not, but to me they're in no way like Microsoft which has no competition, or like Sony which has screwed up several times. EA is not completely good either, they're just too big and are more about movie licensing and sequelities than other companies, but the good thing is that there are always alternatives to whatever EA has. I think EA deserves a chance; if their products were really that poor, they wouldn't be selling and they'd be bankrupt (since there are alternatives, competition, after all).

In the worst case, I'm trying to be the devil's advoate here, and give EA the benefit of the doubt.

I don't want EAs rotting "We destroy gaming franchises" hand on one of my favorate pub/developers. Could you imagine what a move like this would do to gaming? Things liked this have happened before, sometimes it goes alright but somtimes (EA) it f**ks everything up.

Well EA are known to mint franchises and well Ubisoft seem to have been doing the same.

EA seem to make shoddy games (Most Wanted and Carbon framerates anyone?) and Ubisoft have made games full of bugs and glitches (GRAW 1&2 anyone?)

As many of you said, its bad. REAL bad. I hope for the sake of great Ubi games like Tom Clancy series, Assassins Creed, Farcry, Rayman and others tht they stay away from EA.

Well I can see this going really bad. If Ubi becomes less involved with their IPs and another team takes over and fncks with the formulas and destroys a great franchise, this will be sad for all gamers. I can see a lot of half-assed attempts to port port port if EA is involved. Yikes, we'll just get mediocre games from Ubi. Well money talks. :-/
