This year is going to be a whole other show.

Unless sony's motion controller can garner as much attention as natal I don't see sony pulling out ahead this year. And with one of the largest, if not the largest game being a multiplatform release (FF13) it'll be hard for sony to make up an exclusive to fill it's place.

Exclusives game wise it's going to be close but again I see the 360 with a stronger lineup, even without Halo Reach.

Well Sony pretty much had 2009 nice and neatly wrapped for themselves. With GOW3, Heavy Rain, and Gran Turismo 5 already slated for within the first QUARTER of 2010, Yeah Sony already has the early assets to easily take 2010 as well.

Every year is the year of sony, awesome games that never disappoint it's gamers. Not multiplats that have glitches or hype.

09 was sonys year, I mean Uncharted 2 is taking all GOTY awards and there has been many great games released this year for it.

"Year of" is a buzz term with no actual definition. Give me a definition, and I still wont' care. 2009 was great for gamers. 2010 will also be great for gamers. Go play games. If a title selling 1 more or less copy changes your perceived entertainment value of said game, you have issues.

Forget this whole this console manufacturers year stuff. All of them have proven that they are here to stay. However, Sony has always been known for having the strongest games in terms of quality and quantity. 2010 will be no different being that Sony has more 1st party studios than Nintendo and Microsoft combined.

MW2 sold more Uncharted 2 and Ratchet and Clank on the PS3. Nobody cares about U2 or R&C. They would rather buy Halo ODST and Left4Dead2.

Imo Sony has a good line up and so does MS the difference that will lean the year towards MS is the fact that MS does not have a really next gen graphics game. With Splinter cell, reach and Alan Wake people will soon have MS on the brain. We know Sony has already done great looking games but everyone will be surprised when MS does as well. Then to cap the holiday season I think Natal will run shop. Everyone knows if there is a company that knows how to amp a product it's MS. Sony had a great year in 2009 but I think MS will own 2010.

PS3 is exclusive central for 2010 unless they bring out Natal and a bunch of developers bring out games we aint heard of for it at the same time. Halo: Reach aha, thats hilarious, this franchise was the mario of its day, and now its just mario. same thing different year. might aswell be an EA sports title with a year slapped on it. Only game i like the looks of for the Xbox(UNFORTUNATLY) is Alan Wake.

The PS3 is by far the most superior console in graphical, gameplay and noticeable console this Generation Sony have more HD graphical games that xbot can't even handle without getting a RROD, so play beyond with a real Next-Gen console that supports Blu-ray and free Online play beyond.

Too many Sony games coming out next year, Planning to pretty much get 11+ games that are exclusives and that's only the announced titles then i add in the multi-platform games and maybe a few unannounced titles and PSN games and that's pretty much the best gaming you can have. Also planning to get the Driving Fore GT along with GT5 so yeah busy gaming year in 2010.

As of right now the PS3 is outselling the 360 worldwide. By the end of 2009 the PS3 will end up beating the 360 in sales. The 360 had to drop their price twice this year and ban xbox users just so they could keep up with Sony. Even with doing that the 360 only outsold the PS3 by 100,000 in Nov and those numbers only in NA. Everywhere else the PS3 is mopping the floor with 360.

Sony's year? LOL, Halo: Reach will outsell all of the other PS3 exclusives probably put together. The PS3 has some nice exclusives, but to act like the 360 has nothing in 2010 is stupid. The 360 has a crap ton of nice exclusives, and one thing that everyone seems to completely underestimate, Natal. Yeah, to the people that doubt it's potential popularity, remember what everyone said about the Wii.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
