GameFocus Awards 2009

GameFocus writes: "After 365 days of gaming, 250+ reviews and two weeks of debate, it's time to finally announce the 2009 GameFocus Award winners.

2009 was a banner year for GameFocus and we played an insane amount of games. From that pile, we garnered four reviews per category. If we didn't review it, it wasn't eligible for nomination. But that isn't to say that any of the categories were an easy pick."

Batman GOTY, that is a good surprise indeed :)

Perjoss6015d ago (Edited 6015d ago )

Batman AA is a fantastic game, but I think Uncharted 2 deserves the win. If gaming keeps moving in the direction that U2 is stearing more and more people will take gaming seriously as an art form and as a strong way to tell stories.

We just need a few more devs to adandon the lame cliches of giant breasted girls and terrible voice overs, you know, the ones that make you ashamed to call yourself a gamer sometimes, like horribly flat stories and bad game design choices.

I agree, but it's good to see all the good games in '09 get credit.
Great games like Batman atleast deserve a GOTY award or two lol

In all reality, uncharted 2, Killzone 2 & Demons souls are sweeping the 2009 awards. Yet they cant win because it shows A PS3 Bias.

i say screw the Bias and give the people what they deserve.
Quit being all political about it.

Very safe. It's odd that Uncharted 2 was clearly considered for almost every category but was not picked as Game of the Year. Fishy if you ask me.

Uncharted 2 deserved Game of the Year

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9236d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit36d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing36d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9236d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
