The VGAs were crap and you know it. The awards were poorly chosen, the games reveals were crap, Halo was crap even though Geoff claimed it would blow everyone away (that loser has lost all credibility), the speakers are annoying and not funny (especially Jack Black), etc.

Overall it looked like some stupid Nickelodeon awards show. What an embarrassment.

Sorry but your comment is extremely indicative of what is wrong with the industry. Get off your high horse already and realized that although you don't see it there are thousands of people working around the clock to make games that you buy and play.

I think it is only fair that there is a show to award those hard working individuals who shed blood and tears to provided us with quality entertainment for us spoiled brats to enjoy.

Who cares about the Game of the Year you ask? Ask any of the people who were involved in the development of Uncharted 2 and see what they think about winning the award. The creative director was damn near in tears on that stage when they accepted the award.

Well, personally I don't see the point in asking us all to actually do something before we're allowed an opinion(murder, rape, paedopgilia-don't need t try em to know they ain't for me, y'know?)but I'll concur that the moaning is a little OTT at times. sure GK ballsed it up this year by hyping it way too far when there was little we couldn't have guessed at pretty safely to begin with.

The thing I really fon't get about gamers and this kind of thing is how we haven't learned from decades of the Oscars-awardsceremonies suck and are pretty much meaningless oputside of those invited to attend. Getting kudos from your audience and peers muct be great and things like this offer that in a nice, concise way but, honestly, how many times has your gavourite movie of the year won the BIG Oscar? I can't hink of once-and I'm OLD! If you're gonna be upset when someone's hype fails or when your bestest game doesn't win then these things aren't for you jusr as, because I see no point in them for gamers themselves they aren't for me either-but expecting a ceremony for gaming awards to be a lot better than this? Why and how?

Seriously-it means sod all. I mean EVERYONE loves Okami and BG&E now, don't they? If there was an award for best games that sold sod all they'd win every time but I'm sure they'd have preferred even decent sales and the chance to make a sequel(or in BG&E2's case they might be but Okami has been forced onto DS like BC has to PSP)over a gew nice, nut iltimately pointless gongs.

I fon't like awards in film, in music or, now, in gaming. How can we have a fair "winner" between a great RPG and a great shooter? Why should we want one? We know what we liked best and no award is empirical proof to bandy around in some fanboy argument is it?

So, if it's not gor you just leave it alone and let others enjoy it--that's where Ross is right as you really didn't have to watch any of it-even the trailers would(and now are anyway)be up right away at GT so there's litle excuse for falling for the hype that only existed(and you can't really blame him) to boost his show.

BTW, all those "who won E3" articles are even worse, imo, how can you "win" a press junket that costs more than it's worth? That takes devs away from their work, delays games and reduces the cash available to them? When we could be given the information way better without the gaming industry having to drag itself to one spot every year and pretend to like journalists so much they drink with them? And what about the month of hype and BS predictions beforehand?

OK, enough questions. Seriouslym though, this need for "winners" is a little silly in my eyes and E3(and TGS, GDC etc)are even less necessary these days-honestly, wouldn't we all be better off if the E3 budget actually just went into game R&D , no? Plus, I'm as big a fan of Uncharted2 as anyone but is my life any better for their two awards at ND? Is the game better? Do we enjoy it more now that this has validated our opinion? Being frank there's very few things worth getting less excited about than bloody awards.

So modern warfare 2 doesn't have the best multiplayer? I guess you've never played it and only read reports of the bugs. You're a hater if I've ever seen one. The only award they gave out that I disagree with is "Most Anticipated". I think it should have went to Mass Effect 2 but that's just me.

As far as GOTY is concerned, they couldn't have picked a better game than Uncharted 2. If Modern Warfare 2 won I would have completely dismissed the entire show as a popularity contest instead of choosing quality over quantity.
