Brilliant!! I loved the first game and will definitely pick this up...but I'm a bit iffy about the multiplayer. I hope another company develops it so that Visceral can focus on single-player. Kind of like what ND did with Uncharted 2.

Some of the details I'm seeing worry me but I still have high hopes for this game. If they can make MP work, cool, as long as the SP is top notch like the first one was that's all that matters.

What the hell?
I hate when games stray from their roots and add mp just for the sake of some sales from the ignorant sheep that only buy games if they can play online with their friends.
Condemned 1 was a good game but the sp in the second one suffered a lot due to mp being added.
Bioshock 1 was a good game but the fact they're adding mp is taking away my desire for the second game.

Interested in DP2 online, but it isn't the reason I want this game, NOW. But like you all it's the SP that I'm most interested in and I definitely hope they didn't take the suspense out.

My deal was, yup every door corner and crannie, freaked me out...... I'd clear a spot and even if I went thru it 5X I was still nervous the next time around!!!

"online components" doesn't neccessariy mean online versus, though it probably does, but if it is, then it won't be played. Like, at all. devs. stresss multiplayer way too much, and I don't think it'd b right for DS.
As far as the pacing thing, that might be a REALLY good thing. If visceral does it right, then the idea of it is to make the scarier parts feel all the more scarier. I personally wasn't scared in DS1, because I had butt-load of heath and a BA plasma cutter.
I hope they up the gun slection by a lot. The guns in DS1 wer hecka fun to use, and more is always nice. News guns later on via DLC would be nice as well, IMHO

I don't like the sound of losing some of the vulnerable feeling and being stronger. Feeling weak and vulnerable were key components that made the atmosphere of the first game so good.

I suppose multiplayer could be ok if it's done like the Alien v Predator v Marine games.

And today I was reading that apparently they were going to do a DS2 Remake, but weren't happy enough with the first game's remake to continue. I was really hoping to see them actually make a new game to finish off the story of the franchise.

So reading the article it doesn’t seem to rule out the possibility of a Dead Space 2 remake at some point. It’s saying that the rumour that it was already in development and was shelved because of poor sales is incorrect. EA Motive immediately started working on something else. So I read that as them actually confirming that it’s not entirely off the table.
