Seeing as you haven't played for 6 months, that means within around 7 weeks after release your "casual raiding guild" was apparently downing bosses in Ulduar on hard mode.

Not so casual, me thinks.

Myself, I play most nights and for a good chunk of the weekend. I've been playing for 4 years, have 5 level 80s, but mainly do heroics and dailies. Every now and then I save up enough emblems for a new bit of gear which means I can perform a little better in the odd raid that I join. I've never done ToTC 10/25, nor been past the Iron Council on 10 man setting in Ulduar. Am I a noob? No. I'm just not that keen on raiding because of the set times usually involved. But I'd love to be able to tackle Arthas, and these new 5-man instances in IceCrown will reward good enough gear to enable me to join some pugs.

I'm not asking for free epics, I'll have to spam heroics over and over to get the gear, I just want to be able to see the end game content. It's a bit of a waste if only 5% of players DO get to play it, like the 'good old days'.

Again, I don't see how anyone can say that. The only thing that's been changed is that endgame is now more accessible. There are still hardmodes, people with less time, ability or inclination will never have all the best gear in the game.

It just sounds like elitists throwing a wobbly because the content is easier to get to than before. Considering how few managed end game in vanilla and TBC, I think that's a bit selfish.

basically in the 'good old days' people that didnt have jobs used to be like gods in WoW and there were not that many of them around so they felt special. Now that wow has enetered this easy mode more people can be like gods so the old schoolers feel less special because now they not only suck in real life but in their virtual world also.
