This "upgrade" (if you even want to call it that) in graphics looks terrible.

The BS Police6013d ago

It's not horrid in my eyes, but it will take some getting use to since I'm more familiar with the original graphics. As for the feature you are refering to, I think that is definitly a possibility since the Goldeneye 007 port would have had that same feature.

tbh I hate this new art,it looks like perfect dark zero which was a HUGE disappointment

but Im really excited

day 1 buy

perfect dark to me is one of the best games of all time

rafaleon6013d ago (Edited 6013d ago )

Perfect Dark Zero looks totally different than this sh!t, and it's still a great game with amazing graphic.Hell it even looks better than the Resistance 2.

Elven66013d ago

I don't mind the "new look" if you want to call it that, it looks great, although it is essentially a remastered version of the original. Having a mode with the original graphics would be cool for nostalgia purposes.

kaveti66166013d ago

I don't Perfect Dark Zero looks better than Resistance 2. Those screenshots from the link are pretty good though.

It would be really cool if Rare was working on a Perfect Dark sequel right now, with a greater story, better multiplayer, and some awesome graphics.

Elven66013d ago

Rare has nearly 200 employees, they could be working on multiple projects in some capacity.

The environments in PDZ looked great, the character models looked ok, although some of the faces for the enemies and the ragdolls were really good. (in singleplayer of course, in multiplayer the ragdolls were kinda cartoony)

multipayer6013d ago

Jo actually resembles her younger self from PDZ a bit now, she has a face anyway... I don't understand what you can dislike, you hate vivid colors and more detailed textures?

kwicksandz6013d ago

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Day 1 purchase!

cant wait for the queen of console FPS to return

AAACE56013d ago

These pics are old! These came out a while ago and were posted on here when it was announced that PD would be hitting XBL.

I bought a N64 not too long ago and have to say, that these graphics would help alot. Basically they just cleaned them up and made them more crisp. The bad side is that you see just how few polygons used to be in these games. Should still be fun though!

If they are able to release this for about 800 MS points, this would be a hell of a deal! The silgle player was great, the multiplayer was great, you had the option of adding alot of bot if you wanted or had no one else to play with, and more importantly... it now has online play! If they can do all that for 800 points... it is a day 1 purchase to me!~

The BS Police6013d ago

Alot of these screenshots are new.

ape0076013d ago

I didn't mean the gfx quality,I mean the "art"

"art" not "tech"

I've been looking forward to this since they've announced it. Day 1 purchase for me.

Yeah same here. When it was announced it was a day 1 purchase for me - I don't need further thought, opinions, or look into's.

The Perfect Dark campaign for N64 is being rebuilt as a VR game

The nostalgia for 64-bit gaming has taken a significant technological leap with the arrival of Perfect Dark VR on Meta Quest. This isn't just a simple workaround to make the emulator look bigger; it's a standalone port that brings Joanna Dark's missions directly into your VR headset.

I’m super excited for this. I hope it can be finished at some point.

"I have a headache. And with a head this big, that's no joke." - me after playing this for 30 minutes

Agent75104d ago

It wasn't too good on the Nintendo 64 all those years back. Hyped as GoldenEye 2, it didn't even come close. On the Xbox 360, it wasn't too good either. No more Perfect Dark games please.

I remember getting this at launch on the Nintendo 64 and even though it looked like GoldenEye, it wasn't too good to play. Plain boring if you ask me. To this day, I still don't understand the hype.

Snookies12143d ago

Absolutely wild take. Perfect Dark was like GoldenEye evolved.

jjb1981143d ago

I agree. It improved the gameplay in a lot of ways. Who doesn't like a laptop gun?

Nebaku143d ago

It's literally built on the GoldenEye engine.

You're going to have to explain how you think GoldenEye feels good to play, but Perfect Dark doesn't.

Notellin143d ago

Man there is no way in the world that two real people agree with what you just said. This is one of the worst opinions I've ever seen on N4G.

So, unsolved questions about the long-term ownership of the IP were responsible for the deal to collapse.

Interesting.

CantThinkOfAUsername265d ago

- Microsoft tells the studios developing the game they can look for funding elsewhere
- The studios' heads spend two months talking to different parties till they land a deal with Take-Two to fund and publish the game
- Take-Two gets in talk with Microsoft about the franchise
- Microsoft says, "Nah, you either fund and publish OUR game for us, or we'd shelf it and let the IP rot forever"
.
.
.
- Profit?

franwex265d ago

I doubt Microsoft will do anything with this IP anymore. It’s basically a late stage n64 game made by rare when they were at their height. It was good for n64 standards. The 360 game was kinda meh. Now it will probably be shelfed forever.

jimtendo1983265d ago

Kinda meh???? It was absolute garbage

Knightofelemia265d ago

Hmm have someone else make a game on your franchise and make money. Or just have an unused IP sit in limbo collect dust and not make money. Or make a little bit of money releasing the game in a collection. Microsoft should be selling off some of the older IP's to people who will do something with them.

Sciurus_vulgaris265d ago

Companies don’t generally readily sell off IPs. MS would have likely only granted Take two a license. Even when Microsoft sold Tango Games, they kept most of the IPs, and did not fully sell off the Hi-Fi Rush IP to Krafton.

Tacoboto264d ago

The Hi-Fi Rush IP did get fully sold to Krafton, though

Sciurus_vulgaris264d ago

No, in Kraftons statements they refer to “rights to” the IP not “ownership of” of Hi-Fi Rush.
