You don't need an Xbox 360 to play most of the Xbox 360's so called exclusives. I don't have an Xbox but if I wanted LFD2 I could buy it for my more than capable PC.

After my 360 ban i've been getting a lot more games on the pc lately.. i was able to swap out the banned 360 for a new one and sold that to get a second ps3..

now i plan to play a lot more pc titles that cant be played on ps3 or that just might be better on pc. like dragon age is just better on pc over both ps3 and 360 consoles..

PC and 360 are identical and ports are easy and take no extra time in development unlike if it were to go to the Ps3 and the developers wanted to maintain quality.

All games PC/360 exclusives will have the following.

1. More Following on 360
2. Most if not all reviews will be showed and played on 360.
3. Most sales will be from 360.
4. More content will be made for 360. (i.e. Avatar Items, Themes etc)
5. The 360 Version will be the gamers choice.

What does it matter to us ps3 gamers what 360 gamers call their games? Does a 360 gamer calling left 4 dead 2 a MSFT exclusive ruin your experience on your ps3? Does it somehow hinder your game experience when they call mass effect a MSFT exclusive?

I don't see why some ps3 gamers get all bent out of shape about this. And please don't give me any hoopla about how wrong 360 gamers are for doing so. I know they are wrong and even they know they are wrong. We are 3 years in the game now and ps3 gamers are still beating this dead decomposed horse. 360 gamers won't stop calling multiplatform games exclusives so why are you still trying to convince them to do otherwise?

I find it amusing that some people are actually think that MS alone is the reason PS3 games cost 60 along with 360 games...Yes MS is bad, but there are enough legit reason to hate them.

I have a PS3, Wii, PSP's, DS and a gaming PC....why i don't have a 360 is simply because they are unreliable and the warranty does not cover for it in my country. To people who don't know what the term "exclusive" means i think you should go back to school or else you'll give us gamers a bad name for being illiterate. The PS3 offers full exclusivity because i still cannot play its exclusives on my pc and that is why i own a PS3.

It's complete misdirection.

One minute the conversation is about which platform has the best games and then they try to switch the topic to be about which company is making money.

When the fact that the PC and 360 having pretty much the same games lineup is pointed out..

- You can point out the actual exclusive games on each platform.
- Or you can argue the unique features that each platform has.

Is it worth it to own both a PC and a 360? If you believe that it is, then argue why you think that.

The Microsoft argument is basically just agreeing that both platforms are indeed the same and neither is any more special or unique than the other.

If you ask me though, games are the number one reason to justify me shelling out for a particular platform.

It's not only the money. It's the space that it takes up under your TV and in your house when you take into account all of the games, accessories, cables etc you end up having to purchase over the years. I find it to be quite a big commitment.

That is why at the moment, a PC and a PS3 are enough for me. The unique games on the Xbox 360 so far just aren't enough to get me to commit. This might change in the future, but from what I've seen of the upcoming games that have been announced so far, it doesn't seem very likely (ie. not enough 'exclusives').

Whether or not you whole heartedly support PS3 or Xbox 360, you will most likely sound like an idiot to the other person you're trying to convince so why not save N4G space and save this mumbo jumbo for the schoolyard or the lunchroom?

Exclusives are meaningless. Wii has the most exclusives.

But I disagree with the PC argument. A competant gaming PC will set you back £400-450, and will need upgrading after a year. If I want to play Left 4 Dead or Mass Effet, I will not waste my money on a PC that will be outdated in such a short timespace.

But then this argument is pointless. Sony and Microsoft have roughly the same amount of studios. So they have roughly the same amount of exclusives.

Microsoft has Halo, Lips, Forza, Fable, Viva Pinata, Banjo, Perfect Dark etc...

Sony has Killzone, SingStar, GT, Motorstorm, Ratchet and Clank, Heavy Rain, Resistance etc...

Microsoft does benefit from having console exclusives, such as Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell and Left 4 Dead. But Sony also get some exclusives which will probably go multi-platform at some stage, such as Agent.

Your choice over which machine to own will come down to prefence. Like First Person Shooters and want to play online? Get an Xbox 360.

Like to watch Blu-Ray movies and play some more inventive software, get a PS3.

Exclusives are frankly meaningless. It depends which machine plays the best games. And you can't really seperate them at this stage. We'll see next year.

There was once discussion about putting Rare's Xbox games on PC e.g.
Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Viva Pinata, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and bolts.

I don't like the idea of that. Rare give the Xbox360 console colour and relatively innocent fun in a wide variety of genres. They may not be as important to some Xbox360 players as they were to Nintendo players but that's partly because of the tastes of the people who buy the console. For instance, their view of Perfect Dark Zero's single player gameplay which I think is pretty great as an arcade type shooter but some Xbox360 players don't seem to like this arcade feel - they may want more depth of story and dark grittiness which are not especially arcade things.

Even though I can see that vehicle creation in Nuts and bolts may demand a lot of time, I would still rather play that than some of the platform game options on the PS3 (although Little Big Planet looks good).

For me, the Uncharted series seems by far the best reason to own a PS3. Some of the other stuff on offer seems like pseudo sci-fi.
It's the likes of Alan Wake and Max Payne 3 that I am interested in seeing rather than the majority of PS3 exclusives.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
