Mass Effect 2 Comic Variant Cover Art

Ok, as if you weren't excited enough about the upcoming release of Mass Effect 2 ( right around the corner 1-26-10). Here is a sneak peak at the latest variant cover for the upcoming comic from Darkhorse to launch days before the games release (1-6-10). Below is the first 6 pages of the comic and this has been floating around for a month or so but if this cover art is any indication the comic should be sweet since Dark Horse generally is the nuts. Where Mass Effect 2 begins with the story of the disappearance of Commander Shepard. The story of the aftermath is the hook of and exclusive property of these comics. The comic is co-written by lead Mass Effect game writer Mac Walters and Star Wars KOTOR's John Jackson Miller, with art from Star Wars: Legacy's Omar Francia.

Nice!

Makes me want to hurry up and get through the books so that I'll be prepared for Mass Effect 2.

Johnny55996d ago

This is cool, I'm getting it.

Not a fan of Mass Effect, I don't see what the big deal is.

Tony P5996d ago

Ha. Well, of course you wouldn't if you're not a fan.

I don't understand what the fuss is over Portal.

Ok, what I said was cake.

Cool pic. Might make an odd cover though.

I like the limited edition's cover best.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast510d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast510d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman510d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast510d ago

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave758d ago (Edited 758d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
